Woke up anxious

Awful way to start Monday. Woke up anxious to the point of some physical discomfort and really just wanting to go back to sleep. Of course Monday is the busiest day at work. I took my anxiety medication, but it isn't taking effect yet, and only knocks the edge off anyway. Anxiety just makes me want to shut down. When I get anxious at home I have to go take a nap. That's not an option Monday morning before work. I wish my anxiety level would go back to normal, as in barely there. The last couple of weeks have sucked.

Im so sorry to hear about your anxiety. It sets the precedent for the day if we let it. I agree it's easier to take care of your anxiety when you don't have to work. Can you identify what the anxiety is about? Did you have a bad dream maybe upon waking? Sometimes just knowing what caused the anxiety can help. I hope you are feeling better now, after work. Do something, even for 5 min that helps you to relax.

Thanks. It got better today, although I think the meds left me with no energy. I have been having a lot of general anxiety lately (and panic attacks). Some is definitely tied to COVID coming back, and seeing no preventative measures being taken. I also have been feeling a lot of social anxiety lately. I've been isolated with just my husband and coworkers for a year, and now being around other people makes me really anxious. Plus one coworker left and a new one has come in and I'm not sure how the social side of things is going to shake out. It just all seems to come at me at once.
