Soothing your Inner Child

At times, when I'm feeling anxious I like to journal my thoughts as they come and address my inner child with compassion❤️I've honestly found it to be quite healing and liberating in a sense.

What are some ways or one way in which you soothe your inner child?

Journaling is such a great way to allow our thoughts and feelings a let-out, I like journaling also! Thankyou for creating this space to share! ❤

@hopefulDew435 one way for me is allowing myself to be "childish" like, going to the park and using the swing or toboggan. As I kid I was always the grown up, mature one, so allowing myself to find joy in those small things is incredibly soothing.

@Ferna123 Awe that sounds fun! It's great that as an adult you're now able to enjoy those activities

It helps when I write letters to my 10-year-old self and say those words that I wish someone had told me at that point.

@BlobbyN I've written letters to myself too🥰Having that recognition and reassurance through your own words is so therapeutic

Watching the cartoons that i used to watch when i was a kid really soothes me and my inner child. Or maybe eating from a place where I had some happy memories as a child.

@hopefulDew435 I love to read children's books before bed as a way of reading bedtime stories to my inner child :)
