Anxiety at school

Anyone4wks October 16th, 2022

Hi all,

So I'm a nursing student and have clinical placements in hospitals. This week, when I was doing something, my placement prof asked me to explain something and I started to word vomit and basically Race through every single detail I knew about the subject. When I finished, very uncertainly may I add, she looked at me and was like "I need you to relax.". She then proceeded to take 3 deep breaths with me and let me restart in a much more calm manner. Later, while she was showing me some documentation thing, she strait up asked me if I had Anxiety. I honestly was t sure how to react so I just told her the truth and said yes and then she asked if I was taking anything for it.... I once again was honest and said no, but that I was looking for therapy options since my doctor recommended it.

The interaction was really good and the first good prof I've had who dealt with my anxiety like this instead of getting weirded out by my word vomit. Just was curious on how other people have, or would have reacted to someone asking straight yo if they have Anxiety and/or if they take meds for anxiety.

Hey!

I'm glad your teacher was kind and helped you relax.

Honestly it's usually me the one telling others about the anxiety I have and the meds I take. Frequently I fear what would they say but they have all reacted positively so that has helped me to tell more people.

Sending a hug, I hope you're having a good day.
