Anxiety about college

HobbitsandElves September 4th, 2018

Hello there! I need to vent a little, so here goes.

I've been feeling really anxious about school lately and I have no idea why. This is my second year of college and I actually have fewer classes than I did last year. I think that maybe one of the reasons that I'm so stressed is that I feel like I should be doing more to keep myself occupied. Whenever I find myself stagnating, I always get more stressed.

I don't know if anyone else has been through this, but if you have, what did you do to help it? I'd love to hear what ya'll have to say.

@HobbitsandElves Is there anything about the year or school that makes you anxious? Could it be you've got a tough class ahead? I don't think this is too weird or unusual and maybe you're just feeling a bit jittery since this sounds like it's a bit of a change from last year.

If you think so, it might be good to schedule something since you've got more time on your hands. It doesn't have an academic class but maybe something fun like going to the gym or indulging in whatever your hobby is, etc.

Hey there! Going to college is an exciting time. You are learning more about yourself and your interests as you work towards your goals. One of the things that I didn't appreciate in college was the "lull" or "boring" times. Anything can happen that will cause an uptick in the activities you are involved in. If you are interested in doing something more, maybe check around the resource office of your major department and see if there is anything related to your field you can get into. But if that isn't the case, I would sit back and smell the flowers. Sometimes down time isnt always a bad thing!
