Try different physically relaxing skills. Since mind and body are connected, the mind will be easy to calm down when the body feels relaxed. There are two practices that you can try :
1. Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Tense a group of muscles 4-10 seconds when you inhale. Then suddenly and completely relax them when you exhale. Take 10-20 seconds to relax between two practices.
2. Diaphragmatic Breathing: Breathing down toward the stomach instead of your chest.

One thing that works for me and for a lot of people as well would be using a distraction. Try to find an activity you enjoy and immerse yourself in it. When your thoughts focus on the distraction rather than what is causing the anxiety you can find yourself feeling less anxious.
