What I would like my past self to know about anxiety :)

BlueStarlightS August 4th, 2022

I believe that the thing that I lacked more when battling along (not against, along) with anxiety, was acceptance. Three or four years ago, accepting something meant the same as being conformed with something. So I denied my anxiety and I had on my mind that I had to destroy it. Well, turns out it wasn't the best approach for me.

Things really started to get better when I accepted that I had anxiety, and that there'll be days where I'll be anxious. And I don't have to fear them, because they're not a monster, they're a struggle, they're part of my growth. Working along with anxiety always puts me back on track. Not doing everything to prepare. But simply stopping and let this feelings come, go to the root of them, and then try to work them out. Writing is an amazing coping skill for me, as an overthinker, but meditation helps also.

Work along with yourself, your feelings and your goals, instead of fighting this battle alone. The 7Cups community is always here to help. And i hope i was also helpful with this post :) Thank you

Hey @BlueStarlightS, nice to meet you. ❤

Thankyou for making this post, sharing your experience with anxiety, what helped you manage it and what keeps you going, it is indeed quite a comforting read and I'm certain anyone who comes across would find this helpful.

You are so right, acceptance is the most important thing ever and the journey to healing surely begins at acknowledging and accepting the parts that need to heal, to think of struggles as your means to grow is honestly, such a wonderful perspective. I highly admire your positive approach towards the same.

We indeed got this, one day at a time.

Sending love your way. ❤
