Does anyone else use colouring books for anxiety help?

If so which colouring books do you have?

I have a cat therapy colouring book.

Yes, I use them. I use Dover's line of Creative Haven books and coloring pages printed from the internet. It's very helpful!

I recently bought a Scandinavian Patterns coloring book and I love it so far! There are so many neat designs in it. Although I'm trying to find a way to really use it when I'm feeling anxious because most of the time when I'm going through an anxiety attack, the last thing I really think about is using a coloring book to help calm me down. But, we'll see. :)

I've heard a lot about using coloring to cope with anxiety but I have never tried it myself, mostly because I feel like in that moment where I'm freaking out I will be too wound up to sit stilk and color.

@JumpingJade You make a very good point! Maybe you can turn to the coloring book once you see that your anxiety is beginning to heighten and perhaps use it as a method to calm yourself down before you get too riled up? Or use it as a cool-down to help get your mind centered again. I hope you give it a try! :)

I actually just use the regular coloring books for kids. They're not as intricate as the adult ones, but I find them just as calming. Plus they have lots of my favorite cartoon characters and superheroes, etc. smiley

I found an app today on google play called Mandala Coloring Pages. It's free, and it lets you color right on your phone or tablet. smiley Not exactly a coloring book, but it's portable!

@creativeCamp2095 Thank you so much for sharing this! The ability to have a portable coloring book on your phone means you don't have to carry one around all the time for when it could be helpful!
