Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a step away and try to be present in your body and take in your surroundings rather than letting yourself feel trapped in your mind. Take some deep breaths and when you're ready try taking notice of what's happening around you, and then try to see what about it is making you anxious. As uncomfortable as it is, sometimes the best thing you cando is tackle what you think you're worried of and then next time it doesn't seem so bad.

Well when you work out it increases your heart rate and if you are feeling insecure or anxious anyway about being in the gym (many people feel this way which is why they avoid the gym) it may be adding to it. If you heart rate goes up make sure you are not thinking that is the beginning of a panic attack b/c your just workingout :)
