IMPORTANT
I had my first panic attack a couple of days ago and it lasted for 2 hours I'm 14 and I don't know if I should tell my mom that I had one because its not like she can do anything about it. My mom was asleep way before it happened because it happened around 12 Am and there was absolutely no reason at all that I can think of for it to happen
@plumBunny2806 I'm so sorry you had a panic attack. I have them for no reason, too, and have for about 30 years. I never told my mom or dad until I was about 25. They were both upset that I'd never told them before.
Now I have kids; my son is 14. And I understand now how hurt my parents were when I finally told them about my panic attacks when I was a kid. If it were my kid having panic attacks, I'd absolutely, positively, definitely want him to tell me about his panic attacks. Any time, day or night. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, where I am, anything. Any. Time. I might not be able to help, might only be able to give him a hug or rub his back.
I know I'm a week late coming to your post. But if you haven't told your mom yet, I hope you'll go tell her soon. I know hugs and back rubs help when I'm having a panic attack. I'd bet they'll help you too.
