Seeking Advice on Managing Anxiety

Hi everyone,
I’ve been struggling with anxiety for a while now, and it’s starting to affect my day-to-day life more than I’d like. I’ve tried a few different things to manage it—deep breathing, journaling, and listening to calming music—but some days it still feels overwhelming.
I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar and found any techniques or resources that helped them? Whether it’s therapy, self-care practices, or just mental strategies, I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice.

I’m anxious a lot too and to help I use the 4-7-8 breathing thing and it helps me calm down sometimes. I also just tell myself that everything is gonna be fine and that I’m gonna be alright, you know about how people say that if you hear or say something enough it’ll start to feel like the truth? Do that, I know it sounds corny and overused and cliche or wtv but just keep telling yourself that everything you’re worrying about is gonna be just fine, everything’s gonna be great, you’re good, you’re gonna be good, you’ll be fine, everything will work itself out.
Idon’t know if any of this helps but I do wish that it will, stay safe and stay healthy, I really do hope you get better. 🤍

We all have a toolbox of things we collect that help us with our anxiety and everyone's toolbox looks different and has different things in it.
- Meditation
- Breathing techniques
- Practicing gratitude
- Watching movies that make you happy
- Go for walks in nature
- Reaching out to your circle of support (calling/texting a friend)
- Chatting here on 7Cups
- Playing games
- Therapy
- Exercise
- Journaling
And so much more. Try different things that work with your anxiety. Some will work better at certain times. Some work best when you do two or three things at once. And build your toolbox with as many tools as possible. Look for things that make you happy and that relax you. Coloring, music, washing dishes....
