We've all heard of journaling as a great way to deal with anxiety. And really, writing down thoughts, fears and feelings can help us better understand and process them.
We can also discover our inner worlds through other creative forms. Things like painting, drawing, writing: poetry, fairy tales, quotes, and even novels or fantasy, can all be powerful tools to release emotions. For example, some people like to paint their feelings with colors that remind them of what they are experiencing and feeling, while others prefer to create a story where a fighter goes through similar challenges just by writing.
The point is that journaling is not the only way to express ourselves, we can express our feelings in many ways, even through singing, where we redirect our emotions through melody and song. It is important to find what relaxes us and helps us release what is weighing us down. Maybe you will respond by writing about your fears, and perhaps through drawing or writing a fantasy you will express what words cannot describe.
Anxiety often seeks an outlet, and creative expression can be that safe space where we can let go of all our thoughts and feelings. Regardless Whatever you choose, remember that the process is more important than the result. You are doing this for yourself, to release, connect with yourself, and perhaps find peace in the moment.
