Being with discomfort
A sign of growth is having more capacity to be with discomfort. But it's also having less tolerance for nonsense.
As we grow, we expand our ability to be with experiences of pain or confusion without immediately running away, reacting impulsively, or trying to numb. But at the same time, we become more sensitive to anything that feels fake, manipulative, or misaligned, and much less tolerant of it.
Remember: Just because you have capacity to be with discomfort, doesn't mean you should be with that discomfort.
This is wise discernment. And it's a sign that you're becoming clearer on what's good for you, and what's not.
