Anxiety at school
Today I had this oral physics test. I has studied a lot and I knew everything.
When the teacher called, everything seemed right, he even asked the thing I knew better.
After a while, I got a formula wrong, I started panicking, and I forgot everything I had studied. My hands started shaking to the point I couldn't even write, my breath was kinda heavy and I had hot flashes. My face was red, and the next moment I was pale, and it happened more than once. For a moment I couldn't even talk anymore.
My change of colour kinda scared my teacher because I looked like I was about to faint (and I felt like it too), but these were also symptoms of a panic attack arriving.
Fortunately this teacher knows about my panic attacks because I talked with him about my issue.
He went to the blackboard where I was standing, he clenead the blackboard and he told me to start all over again. He guided me on what I was saying and I managed to finish the interrogation, but I didn't solve the problem he assigned me.
At the end, I was convinced it had been a total mess, so I ran after the teacher to ask him if I could do that interrogation again because I was disgusted on myself. He said I didn't have to worry.
He gave me a pretty good mark (8/10), but I feel I didn't deserve this mark. My interrogation was a total mess, and that's a fact.
If it was possible, I'd like to attend this test again, but the teacher wouldn't allow it with the mark I got. What do you think? And do you have any advice for this damn anxiety attacking me for no reason during tests?
@CallMeFiorella Thank you for opening up with us, Fiorella and being here. I am sorry to hear that you did not do as well as you hoped on your test due to your anxiety. I get it you put in a lot of effort into studying and feeling prepared before the test, which makes it even harder to experience these physical reactions. What thoughts appeared in your mind when you started panicking? Please know you have all of us here with you to listen to and support. Yoou are not alone in this.
