Anxiety and depression
Hi everyone
I've been suffering from anxiety and depression for last few years and finally went to see a psychiatrist who prescribed me some meds for anxiety and for my sleep issues.
I've taken the meds and most of the anxiety symptoms seems to be alleviated but now I just feel numb and dissociated. I'm still unable to do the things I want to do. But the overwhelming emotions seems to be less, however I'm still utterly confused. Without my emotions guiding me, I'm unable to make decisions. Is this just me or do other people feel like this when starting meds?
I'm on escitalopram and clonazepram
@valarian04 It is common to experience changes in emotions when starting medication for anxiety and depression. Feeling numb and disconnected is difficult to navigate. How have you been feeling about yourself during this time?
It may be helpful to see a therapist also. Routines are helpful. True many decisions are emotionally affected, but also rational choices. I take Lexapro too. Maybe you need a lower dose at some point? Add in some activities even if you don’t feel like it. You got this.
