No meds anymore / my life is crashing TIPS PLEASE?
Hi people,
I need so advice, so about 3 weeks ago I took my very last pill (I did not know it then) but now we are unable to get a refill/just can’t pay it, my mother, I’m staying with her rn, thinks it’s not that bad she says i just need to focus like all the other people it’s not that hard.
Problem is IT IS HARD I didn’t know that it was that bad tho.
I took the meds for 5 years and somehow I feel like the whole ADHD got worse now that I’m off them. I know that that’s not true but it just feels so extreme.
my Head is so Loud, my mind just goes dozzig away and I can’t get myself to be productive like at all. Maybe I’m just lazy and taking this as an excuse, but it feels so bad.
I feel so useless now in class cause I’m always dreaming away and forgetting and this is my seniore year I can’t *** this up!
so I’m here and hoping that some of you out there got some tips or advice in anyway ?
Please
@Nellybay
Sorry to hear this Nellybay, by what you have shared this does sound very challenging. Having been on your meds for five years, its no wonder why you are feeling the way that you are. I think anyone would feel the effects of stopping medication suddenly. Do you think if you explained to your mom how much the medication was helping you, she would find some way to get you back on it?
@aCalmOasis
First off thanks for replying.
Sadly my mother counts the meds as a „luxury expense“ and rn were tight on money so that just ain’t in the budget, ngl i think even if things get better she won’t get me a refill. My teachers don’t care they say that there are a lot of students without meds so 🤷♀️
I sound so dumb when I say it but I’m kinda searching for the ultimative „solution“ for my Problem and I know that that won’t exist but hope dies last ***?
some one told me that I should start chugging like a couple more coffees than usual before class, it would make me more concentrated I think that’s bs
it just seems like nobody cares really and that’s *** upsetting
anyway back to doomscrolling
@Nellybay
I thought to share this website seeing as getting back on the medication isnt possible for you at this time. The fellow who runs it, is an ADHD coach who helps people manage the symptoms without the use of meds. You can sign up for his newsletter for free and he sends occasional emails here and there with info and tips. https://www.drugfreeadhd.org/
@Nellybay Hi!
I'm Jemmy and I'm struggling with symptoms of ADHD also. I've never been on medications or therapy so I'd been just experimenting and winging it (lol I need help 🤝)
What have you tried so far to stay on top of things?
@JemmyX0X0
Hey,
fist off nothing of the things I’ve tried so far have worked in like anyway. All if those teas don’t work and magnesium is also a lie and I’m on my 5th organization App so that sums it up quite good.
That’s why I am asking here for tips (:
I have a question if you don't mind me asking, why haven’t you gone/tried meds when you got diagnosed? Just curious?
@Nellybay I said I struggled with ADHD symptoms, I don't have an official diagnosis but my symptoms are glaringly obvious.
I haven't gotten diagnosed because exams cost a lot and therapy costs a lot. But I am googling and researching a lot
But I can relate to the organization apps I'm using Clarify ADHD right now and Daylio for mood tracking (´。_。`)
