Do you ever think that everything Is meaningless?
@random33
Sometimes. Depends on the day. Sometimes things do feel overwhelming and like no matter what we do, we won't make a difference, or that being me is useless.
But with things happening with family and friends, I've been paying attention to the little things that bring a bit of brightness to the world, or the little ways I've made a positive mark. A gratitude journal has helped too.
Does this happen to you often? What do you do to try to get out of that mindset?
@random33
Yes, I know how you feel and deal with this from time to time. I was wrestling with this just this week actually. I have come to interpret it as a loss of joy, and that loss can happen for any number of reasons. There are challenges and traumatic things that happen, that can put us in quite a defeated place.
The way I have learned to remedy this, is I engage in those things I know I feel passion for, that light me up. It makes me feel alive and as a result that zeal for life returns. This helps me out of my funk and those feelings of meaningless start to fade away.
For me, its singing, listening to my favorite tunes, dancing, talking to a friend, reading a good book, doing a good deed for someone or getting out into nature. Usually, when I do some or all of these things I start to feel better.
