Bored/Not Bored

I'm so bored and not bored—all at once—and it doesn't feel very good. I need to focus on school, but that seems out of reach today. How do you all deal with deadlines on a bad day? I give up and try later, but nothing will ever get done if I keep doing this. I want to focus and have every intention, but when I get to the task, my brain shorts out and says, "Anything but this." But the problem it keeps doing that with all the tasks I need to complete today. when-no-one-wants-to-hangout-with-you-when-you-have-no-friends.gif

Hi diligentidea, have you ever tried using the pomodoro technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It encourages focused work in short, structured intervals, followed by brief breaks. Here's how it works:

  1. Choose a task: Pick a task you want to work on.
  2. Set a timer: Set a timer for 25 minutes. This is called a “Pomodoro.”
  3. Work on the task: Focus solely on the task at hand until the timer goes off.
  4. Take a break: When the timer rings, take a short break (typically 5 minutes).
  5. Repeat: After four Pomodoros (work sessions), take a longer break, typically 15–30 minutes.

The technique helps increase productivity by promoting sustained focus and preventing burnout. The regular breaks give your brain time to rest and recharge.
