Alcohol addiction
Hello my names Ashley and Im new to this group, the reason Im hear is to post asking for advice on ways for helping someone with an alcohol addiction.
Heres alittle bit to understand my story. My mother and I are quite close and we have always been, she has been through a lot in her life with a lot of health problems through the years especially the last 5 or so years. She started drinking alittle while ago and it got to a stage where our relationship got so toxic from the person she becomes when drinking, the relationship got to a stage it started to get physical. I moved to get away as I couldnt handle it anymore not just for me but for the both of us. Her drinking has gotten worse and worse yet nothing has changed. I just recently come down to see her on holidays and yet the same problems as we had before its like once she starts drinking shes just a different person and not a good person its like shes just flicked a switch. The arguments starts the fights and all the s**t on top of that.
I guess my question is how do you help someone who is so court up in there addiction?
Is there ways I could help her recover?

It's nice to meet you, Ashley! You honestly seem like such a brave and courageous person to have to go through that. How have you been coping? On a side note, I edited your post slightly to censor a curse word to ensure forum rules
@Emily619 Thank you didnt even realize, but yeah things could be better with family but other then that they are good! Lets just say things havent changed as much as i want them to! I did recently talk to my mother after not speaking to her in alittle bit but it just turned into more of an argument more then anything so i guess that answers that.
