Hello. I have certain family members who pressurise me to drink alcohol at times. When i say no they make out that i am miserable. Yet if i dare to have a sip of alcohol when they do not want a drink they make out that i am an alcoholic.

I am sorry that your family treat you this way.@dynamicPal1370

Don’t let them define who you are dear. Your reasons are your reasons and your family should respect that

I’m sorry you have to deal with that double edge sword with your family. Sounds like they aren’t supporting your decision to stay sober and call you out when you decide to engage. Have you thought about sticking to either drinking or not drinking around certain family members, just to maybe avoid the criticism?

@dynamicPal1370 There is no reason for you to put up with your family's behavior. It is your decision as to whether you drink alcohol or not, no one else's. No one else has the right to make that decision for you. It's time you told them so.

Are you financially dependent on your family? Do they pay the bills, or are you employed &/or self-supporting? If the latter then you can always move out & find a different place to live.
