Small, they tend to be more animal friendly and while I would prefer either to be well trained I have definitely felt unsafe around big, playful dogs as they weren't aware their play could cause injury.

I want a service dog, am hoping things can be worked out with my allergies to one day make that a reality. I would get a medium dog, something big enough where if I got to the point of achieving public access other people would take it seriously (small service dog stigma is sadly a big problem) but could hopefully still pick it up myself if it was needed.

Personally I prefer big dogs. I like the protection I feel from bigger dogs. My dog is 1/4 Bull Mastiff and 3/4 American Pit Bull. I know he looks scary and intimidating from the outside looking in but with me he is the biggest baby ever. He's so spoiled and loves to cuddle but I know if I was became a victim of someone wanting to hurt me or breaking into my home he would be my protector.

I love all dogs, but I think big dogs have my heart! There’s just something about their goofy, lovable personalities and the way they think they’re lap dogs, even when they take up the whole couch. They’re also great companions for outdoor adventures, whether it’s hiking, playing in the yard, or just going on long walks. That said, small dogs have their own charm too—they’re easier to travel with and love to cuddle. No matter the size, keeping them happy and healthy is so important. I always make sure mine stays flea-free with Bravecto Without Vet Prescription, so they can enjoy life without the itch!
