...See more This discussion forms part of our Life Challenges event. Click here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/siteupdates/EventsDiscussions_2666/August2024getinvolvedwithourlifechallengesevent_333814/] to read more about it! Life is hard and it's important that we're kind to ourselves. In the hustle and bustle of day-to-day challenges our achievements and gratitude can become easily clouded. This month we are going to try that little bit harder to acknowledge and celebrate everything that we are grateful for. How do I participate? 1. Every day for the month of August revisit this thread and list one new thing that you are grateful for. It can be something small like developing the strength to achieve a goal, or it could be something bigger and more meaningful. The possibilities are endless! 2. If you'd like to get reminded to post in the thread, click the subscribe bookmark in the bottom left hand corner. This will notify you each time someone replies to the thread, providing you with a natural reminder to post your daily gratitude.  3. Share the love. Share your support of others if you can by upvoting or replying to their posts. It can take a lot to share your gratitude so creating a safe space here is crucial for everyone's comfort.   4. There is no pressure to commit to it every day, but it'll be great and no doubt very rewarding if you could!  So, what are you grateful for today?
Ideas for motivation

...See more Hi all, I wonder if you all had ideas for motivation for getting off bed during mornings and start your days on a positive note, or as motivated as possible. For the last few years I feel really tired despite sleeping 6-7 hours on a daily basis, having a bed routine, and exercising on a very regular basis. However, I cannot give up a sense of frustration and "defeat" while I wake up, shower, etc. I have lost passion for things I usually liked.

...See more Sorry if it may sound harsh, but it's for your best interest <3 Let's say you have a job interview. How come you can so easily respect someone you don't even know, respect a job you don't even have rn and don't know if you'll have, give your time, money, energy to this, yet you find it hard to do the same for the things you want the most, the things you always dreamt about having, the deepest desires you wish of fulfilling when you throw that little cent in the fountain, the things you always tell others you'll have or do but yet you never see yourself doing as you said?

Power of Journaling #1: How to Journal
by kabir22
Last post
October 2nd
...See more Hi everyone! I’m so excited to kick off our journaling series—a space where we can all come together to explore, reflect, and grow through the power of writing.  Whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone who’s just curious about journaling, this post will help you kick-start your journey. Journaling is more than just putting pen to paper; it’s a way to explore your thoughts, process your emotions, and craft your life’s story. Ready to dive in? Let’s get started! Why Start Journaling? Journaling offers a chance to slow down, reflect, and understand yourself better. It’s a space where you can be honest, creative, and free. Plus, it’s known to: * Boost mental clarity: Organizing your thoughts helps reduce stress. * Encourage self-growth: Reflecting on your experiences leads to valuable insights. * Enhance mindfulness: Being present with your thought's grounds you in the moment. Step 1: Choose Your Journal 📝 * Physical Journaling: There’s something special about picking up a journal that feels just right. Choose one that resonates with you—be it leather-bound, spiral, or colorful. It’s your personal space, so let it reflect your style! * Digital Journaling: Prefer a more tech-friendly approach? Try apps like Notion, Evernote, or Google Keep. These digital options are perfect if you’re on the go and want to jot down thoughts anytime. Pro Tip: If you’re unsure, try both! Sometimes, different moods call for different mediums. Step 2: Pick Your Writing Tool ✍️ * For Physical Journaling: Find a pen that glides smoothly. Some people love the classic feel of a fountain pen, while others enjoy gel pens for their fluidity. It doesn’t have to be fancy—just something you enjoy writing with. * For Digital Journaling: Experiment with different fonts, styles, or even voice-to-text features if you prefer speaking your thoughts. Step 3: Just Write! It’s That Simple! 💬 The most important part of journaling is to start. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to do it. Begin by dedicating 5-10 minutes a day. If you miss a day, no worries! It’s your journey. Need a Structure? Here’s a Simple Guideline: * What Happened Today? – Write a few lines about an event that stood out. It could be a chat with a friend, a work achievement, or even a quiet moment you enjoyed. * What Went Well? – Reflect on a small win, something you’re proud of, or a habit you followed. Maybe you drank more water today or handled a challenging situation gracefully. * What Didn’t Go as Planned? – Identify something that didn’t go quite right. It’s okay to have off days! This helps you acknowledge areas for growth without judgment. * The Bigger Picture – How does today fit into your overall journey? This is where you connect the dots. Did you learn something new? Are you feeling closer to a goal? Adding the Digital Twist 📱 If you’re journaling digitally, consider adding: * Photos: Capture a moment that meant something to you. * Voice Notes: Record your thoughts when you don’t feel like typing. * Links/Quotes: Found an inspiring article? Link it in your digital journal. 🌟 Task of the Week: Start Your First Entry! 🌟 Here’s your mini challenge: Write about one thing that made you smile today, something that was tough, and one lesson you learned. Aim to do this 3 times this week! Listeners and Member both are welcome to join in! Extra Reading: If you'd like to dive even deeper into the art of journaling, check out this insightful guide from Daily Stoic: Journaling Guide by Daily Stoic [https://dailystoic.com/journaling/]. ...See more Todays media is full of beautiful people and great places to visit but no one ever talks about how hard it is to maintain these ideals. Try to get rid of people that judge you cause of your look. If you ever feel like you have nothing important to give for this world, think about it twice cause you might come up with great things after you had some development of your character- which happens automaticly during life. You might not like yourself yet but you shouldnt give up so quick, who you are is only defined by yourself, take a few uncertain steps forward and you will get surprised too.

...See more When I joined the chat with the patients, I was cured in a fraction of second ! because I became aware of suffering greater than mine! . Don't think about what you've lost, but focus all your thoughts on what you have!  :: We are family to each other :) —the family that doesn't share blood but shares the same suffering. I hope that family members don't hurt each other, because we carry the same burdens and have had enough of them." ;)
You are not alone

...See more Differences in natural behavior One philosophical aspect is the theory if other people wether have a consciousness or not and i will show you why you should be aware that you are never alone in this world. Philosophers say we cant ever figure out precisely if theres just one person being conscious (yourself) or all persons (what most people believe) - lets take a look on my arguments:     • Hubris leads to the conclusion of being the only one, cause there is no special reason for that thought     • Anatomy also has no specific reason to provoke equal consciousness       Similarity trough Knowledge Now that i found out there must be some kind of balance, how did i got to the point of claiming that we are not alone? Even equal consciousness has individual thoughts but different experiences often can lead to the same results: knowledge. No matter how different we are, theres someone out there who came to the same result as you. You are not alone.
Autumn Cleaning: Preparing for Cozy Days Ahead ✨🍁

...See more As the days start getting shorter and the air turns crisp, I’ve been diving into my autumn cleaning ritual. Just like spring cleaning, it’s my way of getting ready for the colder days ahead. I find that it helps ease the transition into a season that can sometimes feel a bit heavy. By decluttering and making my space cozier, I feel more grounded and ready to embrace the warmth and comfort of the indoors. It’s all about creating a little haven to soften the sadness that autumn sometimes brings. ✨🍁 How do you prepare for the colder months?
Daily Meditations by Marcus Aurelius - #1

...See more Don’t ever forget these things: The nature of the world. My nature. How I relate to the world. What proportion of it I make up. That you are part of nature, and no one can prevent you from speaking and acting in harmony with it, always. ------------------------- When in it comes to motivation, inspiration and gratitude, I find myself turning back to this book called "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius. It is simply a journal written by one of the powerful man walked on earth, Marcus Aurelius, he was roman emperor, a king but he was more than that and it reflects through his writings and philosophy which is honestly inspiring. (If you have watched Gladiator, Richard Harris plays the role of him). So I decided those who don't have time to read the book, I'll drop something from book daily to inspire those who need it most. Starting with above, let me know if you have read the books and your experience with it!  ------------------------- Head on here for Day 2:  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/gratitude/PositiveMessagesReminders_2231/DailyMeditationsbyMarcusAurelius2_336421/]Daily Meditations by Marcus Aurelius  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/gratitude/PositiveMessagesReminders_2231/DailyMeditationsbyMarcusAurelius2_336421/]
