Motivation Tips

marvelfangirl March 9th, 2023

I find it hard to motivate myself to do my important work and assignments even if it's something I'm interested in and really like.

What are some motivation tips that help you work? Hoping something will stick with me! :)

Have you tried setting specific goals for yourself and breaking down larger tasks into smaller, more manageable ones? I've found this can make the work feel less overwhelming and more achievable.💜

Tips - Motivation is easier if:

  • You really truly want to do something
  • You have the skill and capability to do it
  • You focus on tiny do-able easy steps and just to it
  • You take the baby steps and get momentum then feel good

Good luck!

If your problem is actually procrastination

then a helpful solution might be to:

  • Create simple effective work routines

  • Then stick with them because you decide that's the new-you way
and the old-you way wasn't who you wanted to be anymore

Also:

  • Make your new routines easier to do
(move work and assignment material within easy reach)

  • Make your old unwanted routines much more difficult
(move distractions far away so hard to get to)

Another helpful solution might be:

  • Understand the motivations and emotions that are causing the procrastination

  • For example, are you procrastinating because
you feel overwhelmed thinking about the big scary assignment?

  • If yes, then realize you can't do it all at once!.
So don't scare yourself thinking about it
like having to climb a huge mountain all at once.

  • Instead, always just think about doing the tiniest easiest first step.

Even the biggest mountain can be conquered by taking tiny easy steps!

  • Then it will take much less motivation to overcome the procrastination.

These growth paths explain getting confidence to do tasks
by using the tiny steps approach:

When I used to study for tests I had read you designate a certain spot, when you sit in that spot you study. Otherwise you leave the spot. You will be surprised at how well it works.

Hii!

I’ve found having my own space like a desk which is only for studying helps me focus, plus listening to upbeat music.

Also I think using the Pomodoro technique might help, short period of work then a shorter break for example.

Hope you find some motivation!! :)

I planned to reply to each and everyone of you individually, however, life is quite busy, but I want to let you all know that I read each response and am extremely grateful for them <3
