π This past week went well....Kept up with appointments, Selfcare time, and enjoying things that are good for the soul. Went to another Fall Festival and had a great time. Was able to get in lots of walking and some great steps. As well as a few "fall flavored" treats.
π The weather here is starting to feel more Fall-like which is still really nice here in the South. Its really mild with some nice cooler breezes. Getting outdoors for more walks and activity feels nicer as well. Pool & Swim time (outdoors) is coming to its end, but Continuing to get in Walks with my Furbaby, AND Continuing with AQUA ZUMBA indoors at the Local College. Even though I will miss the summer months, I do love October, and look forwards to various festivals, changing leaves, and Scary movies. A "New" Halloween/Michael Myers movie is coming out this month!
π More and More Fall-Festivals will be continuing to Pop-up locally... Looks like the Southern Storms that were supposed to affect us here this weekend, won't be. So will probably hit-up another Fall Festival this weekend and enjoy the day~
-How have you been this week?
Quiet. Getting over a cold or the flu. Hard to tell which one it is.
Decompressing from my trip up North. Struggling a little with depression. I think is the triggers left over from the trip and some on going conflict.
-What New Healthy Living Goals would you like to work on in this new month ahead?
I just ordered a new strap for my tracker. I hope it fits around my ankle. I don't like wearing anything on my wrists. Going to try to up my steps to 3 to 5k a day. If I can do that, I can raise it slowly to more over the next months. Want to go at it slow.
-What would you like to accomplish for yourself?
Work on organizing. That's the biggest goal right now. Doing that will help with my brain clutter too. I would like to get out of the house and take some Fall color pictures. I'd also like to keep going on my one year goal to read 100 books. I'm about 5 books behind. That's not too bad. I should be able to catch up this month.
-What is your most Favorite Scary Horror Or Halloween Movie?
I use to watch all the classic black and white horror TV movies with my grandma. Now, not to many I really like. I do enjoy listing to Sasquatch stories on YouTube though. There's also UFO and other cryptid stories to listen to. I like listening to stories cause I can do something else and not have to look at the screen.
-Most Favorite Fall Activity?
Like I said above, taking pictures of Fall color.
-What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?
Family issues. Too complicated and private for now. Not sure how it's going to all work out but I'm trying to work through it on my end.
@EmbStitcher33
Hey Stitch~ Thats good things have been quiet for you, and its even greater that your health is improving.
We are sorry to hear that you are struggling a bit with Depression. That can certainly be challenging. Its good that you have identified your triggers, and that you are taking the time needed to "Decompress" from it all.
I think thats so cool that you are going to wear your tracker around your ankle. I would love to hear more about that, and hope that you keep us posted on how that goes for you. I have always wondered about that, and how it worked in comparison to wearing it on ones wrist, and if it was "comparable" as far as overall "Stats". I think its even more awesome that you are making and creating a goal for yourself this month! Increasing your overall steps more is a awesome start! And yes, start slowly and increase as you go. Its the best way to form a habit and to progress forward in your goals.
Organizing is a REALLY awesome goal as well. I LOVE to "Declutter" any chance that I get. Its been proven to make us feel better emotionally and mentally. It has a great impact on our overall mental wellbeing. And all of your other goals seem to fall in line with that as well (Taking Fall photos, book reading etc...). Sounds like you have an AMAZING plan for yourself this month! Keep going, and keep up the great work!
I think thats cool that you used to watch all the scary movies with your grandma. I used to do that too! In fact, she is probably the one that got me started in all of that!...
Hopefully you are able to get things worked out in regards to your Family issues. That can be complicated for sure.
Thanks for checking in, and sharing your week with us!... Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going for you, and how you are progressing with your goals. I seriously would love to know personally how things are going for you with the tracker and wearing it on your ankle. And we'd love to know and hear about your continued accomplishments this month. And hopefully that things have gotten better with your family.
@PoliteOcean
Thank you so much for your post. I had so much inside of me when I wrote that...it felt good getting it all out, so thank you for listening and responding. It feels so validating.
About the tracker. I've found that wearing it around my ankle is more accurate. Some trackers will register steps if you just move or wave your arms around. I don't want that. I want to know that the steps I'm taking are ones where I move my whole body. That's where it really counts.
I wished my brother a happy 70th birthday today. Didn't know if he'd pick up but he did and we had a warm conversation. I believe we have a connection that was woven deep into our fabric-being when we were quite young. I was worried something might have hindered that. Nice to know it's still there. Strong as ever. I love him so much and worry about him constantly. I know, not good for me. But I do. It's the price we pay for love.
My bands haven't gotten here yet, but when they do, I'll let you know how it's going. I know there's a 30 day challenge going on but that's just too complicated for me right now. Focusing on just this one thing...moving more everyday is enough for me right now.
Let me know if you start wearing your tracker around your ankle and if you see it being more accurate.
π How have you been this week? Not very good.
πWhat were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?! Highlights, I went to an American sign language club, I've been reading a bunch. Struggles, people, myself
@tallWalker4850
Hi there Walker... We're sorry to hear for you that your week wasn't very good. But its great that you are looking forwards to the Month ahead and looking forwards to Halloween the most! It certainly is a fun time.
I think is so awesome that you want to work on being kinder to yourself this month. I think that is an AMAZING goal to have and work towards.
Despite your struggles of the week, its great that you were able to find some enjoyment in the American sign language class. I have taken that before myself and found it really enjoyable and knowledgeable.
Thank you for stopping by this week to share with us and letting us know how you are doing. Please keep us updated on how things are continuing to go for you.
@PoliteOcean
How have you been this week?
Been good overall. Always on the move
π Its Officially OCTOBER!...I love the Month of October.~ This is our FIRST Check-in for the Month. What are you looking forwards to the Most?!
I am looking forward to festive season
π What New Healthy Living Goals would you like to work on in this new month ahead? ...What would you like to accomplish for yourself?
Wearing sunscreen and mask when I go out.
π» Just for Fun:....... What is your most Favorite Scary Horror Or Halloween Movie? (if you don't watch them, then what is your Most Favorite Fall Activity?)
Falling safelyπ
πWhat were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
Struggle was to keep up with everything going on. Like a balancing act. All worked out well, except for some things.
π What would "YOU" Like to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!
Just smile more, find more reasons to smile, if you don't feel like smiling, do what you feel like and it just might make you smile π
@DonaldDraper
DD!.. TWO FOR TWO! So lovely to hear from you two weeks in a row~ β€οΈ
Thats great that things have been going good for you overall... and that you are staying on the move!
I love that you are looking towards a 'Festive Season'... I think I feel the same way. Its so easy to be in that mood this time of year.
I LOVE your goals of sunscreen and mask-wearing for the month!.. Awesome. Also Not too many people think to wear "sunscreen" this time of year (of course you might be in a different part of the world and it may not be Fall where you are)?... But either way, Sunscreen is great to wear "Year round". Even thought many don't think about it.
I agree DD... it can be a struggle to keep up with various things at once, or always know how to keep a balance with things in our lives. But its awesome that it all mostly worked out for you. Perhaps you can take something from that and incorporate it going forwards in remembering what worked for you and what didn't?! Plus making time for some "selfcare" always helps us to "regroup" a little and refresh ourselves in helping to find some balance again.
I love the suggestions DD... smiling can improve ones mood or day... and even when we don't feel like doing it at the time, we can always find a reason to smile in something we enjoy doing. π
Thank you so much for stopping by to check-in with us again this week AND for sharing your week with us. Always great to hear from you.
@PoliteOcean Hereβs how the past week went. I was consistent with my devotional time. Sunday I was lazy and didnβt do anything. Monday I was supposed to have a pastoral counseling appointment but he didnβt show up. He called later and apologized and said he wanted to reschedule. Unfortunately, I never heard from him. Later on Monday I went for a walk through my neighborhood. Tuesday I studied art history. Wednesday I studied philosophy of art and went for a walk. Thursday I studied philosophy of art but didnβt go for a walk because it was too hot. Also on Thursday I mailed my renewal forms for my government benefits. Friday I read my poetry book. Saturday I studied philosophy of art and went for a walk. I wish I knew what Alanβs work schedule is so I could squeeze some extra study time in. Everytime I get worried about my circumstances God says βYouβll be fine!β and he gets angry at me because I donβt trust him. Well the past 17 years have been absolutely catastrophic. Iβm always worried about when the next catastrophe is going to hit. I donβt have the resources to handle any more trauma. Iβm trying to discharge old trauma not accumulate new trauma. For this upcoming week, I donβt have any medical appointments.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo, sounds like despite feeling "lazy" that you had a pretty productive week for the most part. And it was good that you were able to have the energy to continue with your devotional time, your art studies, poetry, your walks, and making time to get your renewal forms in! Thats ALOT of accomplishment there! ... Thats too bad that the pastoral counseling appointment fell through. Its good that he at least apologized and acknowledged it. Even though I'm sure it didn't make you feel any better. Hopefully he will follow through with what he said and actually follow up and reschedule it. I personally don't feel that God gets "angry" with us if he feels that we don't trust him. His word actually says in Psalm 103 that "The Lord is Kind and Merciful, Slow to Anger and Rich in Compassion".... .I love that verse. It reminds me personally that any time I feel that I have messed up in some way, that He will help me to keep trying and that He will continue to show me the way and the right path. He just wants us to have "Faith" and abide in Him. Staying in the "Word" will continue to give us Faith. There is also something I watch daily that I will share with you in your Pm's that has really helped me recently. Because if you are always "worried" it doesn't really give us the chance to enjoy things. Whether big or small..... It doesn't give us the chance to see what the Lord can do for us!... We shouldn't live our lives in that manner. That only allows the Devil to win. Your resources to combat Trauma are by doing what you have been doing ..(coming here to 7cups, keeping up with your Therapy/therapist one of course that you connect with and benefit from, staying in "The Word").... among other things. Continue to pray daily and talk with Him. Be Bold in your prayers. And Have Faith. Faith is huge. Its good that your week is free of appointments. Perhaps it could give you some more time for your devotionals and studies. As well maybe you could reach back out about the pastoral counseling? Or find a new one to reach out to as well? Thanks for checking in this week and sharing. And for continuing to let us know how things are going for you.
@PoliteOcean
π How have you been this week?
I've been okay.
π What New Healthy Living Goals would you like to work on in this new month ahead? ...What would you like to accomplish for yourself?
I would like to get good sleep.
π» Just for Fun:....... What is your most Favorite Scary Horror Or Halloween Movie? (if you don't watch them, then what is your Most Favorite Fall Activity?)
The Nightmare Before Christmas. Not horror, but best Halloween/Christmas movie.
@chaiteeeeeeeaaaaaaa
Hey there... Thats good that you've felt Okay this week..
I think its awesome that you would like to work on Getting "Good sleep" and making that your goal for the month! Good for you.
I never actually watched that Movie. But I know that they play that moving Every year quite often on one of the Family Channels. So I have to wonder though based on that Movie title, is it more about Halloween or More about Christmas?! π±π
Thank you for checking in and sharing your week and your thoughts with us! Please continue to keep us up to date on how things are going for you!
