Heya everyone!

Let's start a list of apps we can use to motivate ourselves and stay on track with our health goals!

Here are some of the apps I use or heard about:

-Habitica (transforms your tasks into RPG quests, also has a very nice support community)

-Zombie Run! (a fitness and zombie game)

@MungBean, thanks for starting this thread! I'm excited to see everything that gets added.

Walk for a dog
One app I've downloaded and will start using is called Walk for a dog. You choose a dog or dogs to walk with and record your distance, average MPH, and time that you walk. You also choose an organization to walk for. For instance, I will walk with my dog Nikki to support National Mill Dog Rescue. Then I will be able to see our walking stats and how much our walks benefit NMDR. I'm looking forward to using it.

Glucose Buddy
Stores data such as glucose numbers, carbohydrate consumption, insulin dosages, and activities. You can then view all of the data on your online account. I've been able to print out my information for my doctor.

Water Alert
Keeps track of how much you drink each day. You can customize your daily goals, size of your glass/bottle (oz,/ml/L), set a schedule, play reminder sounds. It will show you your goal and how much you've drunk.

I'm looking forward to trying out some apps that the rest of you recommend.

Balanced - The goal of this app is to keep your life in balance. You can choose any number of activities from a good assortment of categories (a total of about 50 different activities that are already entered) and then choose how many times a day/week/month/year you want to complete the actitity. You can even create your own activities. Then you'll see your activities when you open the app. the ones that are due first are at the top; however, you may do them in any order. Once done, you swipe right on it so that it moves to the bottom of the list. The app tells you whether the activity is Late, Do Now, Do Soon, or how long ago you last completed it. If you complete at least 75% of the activities on time each day, you're "Balanced". This app lets you skip activities, delete, edit, create your own. So very flexible!

I love this app because I have activities that take varying amounts of time right at your fingertips! I never have to stop and think about what i could do.

Pacifica - another wonderful app! Pacifica allows you to track your mood, perform thought analysis, complete self-selected daily challenges, set and track daily health goals, and use relaxation and mindfulness tools. It also provides private groups and public communities (but I haven't used these sharing features since I love 7 Cups forums, feeds, and chats so much). I have used the other tools available and find it very helpful.

Neither one of these apps works in a way that makes me feel guilty if I miss my target for the day. It's easy enough just to skip or do an activity the next day or when I get time. They each have something a bit different. I downloaded them both and thought I'd try the both to see which one I liked best. However, I am still using both of them since they are a bit different. Both are very user friendly. Balanced is totally free, and the basic Pacifica is free, although you can buy in-app membership for about $4/month USD. Since I already have several free meditation apps, the mindfulness exercises here at 7 Cups, and can access even more on iTunes, YouTube, or on CD, I decided not to do the Pacifica premium membership.

Personally, I'd say try either one or both if they sound helpful. Use the one that meets your needs best, or do like I did and use both. laugh

Wow! I don't know why that posted three times! I didn't even want it to post once yet. wink

I wanted to also add that I have to credit 7 Cups. A forum post led me to both of these apps. These two apps have made a huge difference.

Hello everyone,

Some of the wonderful I use are:

1. Bliss - its an app that helps you feel grateful about the good little things you have. Quite useful especially on days when you feel low or that nothing is going well.

2. Miary - an online diary that allows you to post your thoughts and ideas. They also have different background colors to suit your mood. After a while it's fun to see all your colourful thoughts and notes.

3. Any.do - it's a planner and allows you to manage all your tasks and goals.

4. Brilliant quotes - I love this one. You receive one quote every morning. It also gives you a short biography of the person who spoke those immortal lines. What a wonderful way to begin one's day.

5.Moodtools - a wonderful app that helps you manage your moods.

6. TED talks - love this one for all those amazing talks and brilliant and quirky ideas.

Hope this helps everyone here.

-Elle
