Getting to Know You & Your Pain/Illness

Katheryn April 15th, 2015

Thank you so much for taking the time to spend an hour with us. We loved getting to know you. Thank you for making our first support session for chronic pain and/or illness a success. We're so glad you made it!

Each week, there will be challenges following the support session. These are ways for us all to continue thinking aboutwhat we walked about in the discussion and our own chronic pain and/or illness through the week. This week, you had two challenges. Firstly was to come and take a look at the forum section for chronic pain and/or illness. Thanks for stopping by!

This week's other challenge is totake some time to research your condition or illness. Take a moment to read about your condition, and then let us know something new or interesting you discovered about yourself. So what did you find out?

Remember to take care of yourself, this week and always. ? Listeners and fellow Spoonies, Hiddengrace& @Jaelin

One of my conditions is that I have back pain and I never felt wrong about laying down on my stomach even if this hurt afterwards. I read this "My first and most important point is DO NOT SLEEP ON YOUR FRONT!" This means to never do that until the pain is 100% gone, that is interesting to learn.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am having trouble convincing my doctors to treat it. My husband is anything but sympathetic, so I find myself pushing through the pain, which generally males it worse, but what can I do? I I just need support and some help sometimes, but I'm not getting it.

@venttome88getting doctorso to listen to me took years for me. So I changed doctors till I found someone who would listen. All it takes is a simple blood test.

@venttome88 I searched twenty years before I found a doctor who could properly diagnose me! Keep looking, you'll find them eventually. Functional /integrated medicine doctors tend to be a lot more knowledgeable and open to treatments I find. Best of luck!
