I know what is feels like to live with Bipolar Disorder. But, no matter how low you feel, you have all the options to manage it. Apart from seeing therapist and getting treatment, there are many other things which you can do to minimize the impact of bipolar disorder on how you live.

Just like when we get fever, we make choices and adjustments in our life to get better. We need to make adjustments and pick some healthy choices to manage it effectively. We need to make healthy choices because they will help us to deal with our emotions and minimize how it can affect. Some of the healthy choices we can make are:

# Take medications as prescribed. If you're taking medicines, ensure to follow the instructions and take it timely. Ensure not to skip them or change the amount of dose without consultation with your physician.

# It also reminds me that have a constant communication with your provider. They are there to help you out so no problem is too big or small, whatever it is or you feel, simply communication with them. Please do not ignore your emotions. Constant communication will help you to keep a progress track of improving your health.

# The next thing that I recalled is to monitor your symptoms and triggers closely. It's important to know what triggers or warning signs of depressive or mania episodes. If you able to recognize it an early stage, then you may able to avoid the minor mood change into major depressive episode. So, keep a close eye on your triggers. Some of the triggers could be lack of sleep, stress, arguments and so on.

# And, when you know your triggers, then build a wellness system. It means practicing the coping strategies to tackle the triggers. Some of the strategies you may consider are interacting with a supportive person, taking good sleep, taking time to relax yourself. But, if things are not great, then have an emergency plan like having a list of emergency contacts who can help you to keep things in control, medicines you may need to intake and so on.

# Above that, develop an active routine in your life. It is suggested that having a structured routine for day may help you monitor and control your emotions in a better way. Like, have a workout or exercise plans and avoid sitting for long hours. Also, apply relaxation techniques whenever you feel stressed due to one or some other reasons. Deep breathing, yoga, meditation are some of the relaxation techniques that would help you.

These are some self help tips I have to manage bipolar disorder. If you have also any, please share with us in comments. Looking forward to learn more self-help tips this Mental Health Awareness Month.
