Laura August 2nd, 2016

Hello Awesome Community!

We need your help! Do you like making sure people all over the internet get support from our community? Then this project is FOR YOU!

We just launched this awesome new page: https://www.7cups.com/talk-to-strangers-online/

Many people search for support on the internet by using lanugage like:

- Talk to strangers online

- Get support from strangers online

- Connect with strangers online

Our goal with this new fancy page is to let those searching for these phrases know we are here for them! Our community will support you!

Soooooooo..... Here is your challenge, should you choose to accept it, which we hope you will wink

We'd like to invite you to support the community by linking the new "Talk to Strangers" page (https://www.7cups.com/talk-to-strangers-online/) to your social media pages, websites or blogs! You can post the URL on blogs, facebook, tumblr, twitter..etc.

Not sure what to write? No problem! Here is an example of something to post/ Tweet:

"We are all strangers at first. If you are looking for a stranger to chat with, our support community welcomes you! https://www.7cups.com/talk-to-strangers-online/"

OR

"Meet compassionate strangers on 7 Cups. our support community welcomes you! https://www.7cups.com/talk-to-strangers-online/"

Once you have completed this challenge, let us know by posting to this thread!

**Earn the Strangers Unite Badge* for your help!!

I typed up this... um...endorsement? It's just me explaining what 7cups is and how I truly appreciate the community service it provides.

But I'm long winded so I'm going to post the 1300+ characters as two separate "replies" to THIS post here. I've thrown it onto my Facebook and I intend to share it on certain youtube channels.

I joined this community about a week ago and I truly believe in their goals.

Every now and then life can become very difficult and as humans we want to express how we feel. That need to express ourselves can be difficult when we don't want to burden the people closest to us.

"7cups of tea" is a community of anonymous guests, members, dedicated listeners* and even some certified therapists**.

The website and phone app are free to use. You can become a member for free or remain a guest.

It is a form of charity that am very thankful for.

If you ever feel alone and believe there is no one you can confide in - I am unusually happy to tell you that you are wrong.

* Listeners are not trained professionals. They are people like you and me who have chosen to at least try to help. There is a large pool of these confidants and some of them have their own issues. You may get connected with a person who just isn't good at it... don't blame them and don't give up. Try another listener. No one is judging.
** Certified Therapists are a recent addition and there are fees attached to their services. They are by no means mandatory. At all. Ever. For anyone. It's a choice you make.
*** As a final disclaimer I feel a need to reiterate that I truly believe in the work that 7cups is doing. But it should be made abundantly clear that they are not a substitute for professional medical aid. If you are in an unsafe place physically, mentally or emotionally, please go to your nearest hospital. At the very least it would change your surroundings and allow you to distance your self from your pressures while also putting you in a safe place.
