Where is Your Happy Place?
I decided to create this thread as I feel we all need a gentle reminder that we have a place where we can go for calm, peace and serenity ( is that the word?) Some may not be able to go there physically, such as myself with this lockdown but we can still go there to visit in our minds; even if its for 5 - 10 minutes it can give us/our minds the mental rest it needs. Where is your happy place? Describe it in as much detail as possible? Why is this your happy place? My happy place is called North Durras. It is tucked away amoungst a National Park. To get to it you have to drive down what seems like a never ending windy road. Once you get to the end your welcomed with a very beautiful long beach. All around this area is mostly filled by retired people and holiday makers. North Durras has offering of various caravan parks and a resort or you can stay at holiday house. What I love about North Durras is the wildlife, you will find kangaroos hopping around everywhere and often mothers with joey in pouch. You also have huge array of different birds including many different parrots. North Durras is great for fishing, snorkling, kyaking it has lots of bush walking tracks or you just sit back doing nothing and letting your mind go in good book or let it get taken away with sounds of the waves. It is a great place for kids to enjoy also. North Durras for me is a slice of heaven, best place to unwind, and escape lifes stresses. Out of peak time your footprints in the sand may be the only ones their. Love to hear where all your happy places are?

Well, my diary's name is My Happy Place. So I love to write things in it and doing art work and all. But yeah I would say I would like to go to amusement park it would be fun and it would make me so happy π
Thanks for sharing π
@LovetoGod I love your post here in response. I love that your diary is called My Happy Place, I'm sure it brings you lots of comfort, peace, clarity and timeout to release your mind. Its wonderful to do this in many creative ways as you mention with the art work. I use to love amusement parks to, going on the rides, the hotdogs, candyfloss and fries was best. (Oh im now going back in time π) Thank you for posting and hugs to you.
@Cazzy8752

My happy place is my home. Whenever I am back after an exhausting workday at the hospital, my home gives me the feeling of heaven. Being able to rest after you are exhausted is truly blissful. β€
My happy place is not that huge as we are only four of us in my family but the peaceful environment is unbeatable. It is my heaven and that's enough for anyone looking for peace after a stressful day! π
@lyricalAngel I'm happy to hear your happy place is your home. So often its the place we want to have time out from. Theirs an expression: "What makes a happy home is not the material things but the people in it." Sounds like your family have a beautiful warm bond. Please stay safe as you work in the hospital during these difficult times with covid. Thank you for your response and sending hugs.
Still searching for mine......
Hi @quietOwl If you could visualize and create your own happy place What would it look like? What could you see? What would you be doing? Your happy place can be created in your mind with whatever can bring you a feeling a sense of peace, calm and tranquility. Maybe you could visualise yourself by a beach, in a hut on a tropical island. Your snorkling, its a different world down their with the array of different coloured fish and corals. Being in this place snorkling and feel of water brings the calm to you. This an example to create your own happy place. I hope it helps. Hugs to you quietOwl π€
When you were born with mind, It cannot rest at somewhere precisely. Mind roams everywhere. So, try to control your mind to feel the vacuum and you will find the happiest place ever. There will be no stagnant place without settling down our mind. Enjoy!
The Ocean
Hi @greenYard, I love the ocean too and the feeling it gives you. Thank you for your post. Hugs to you π€
@Cazzy8752 Thanks. I really appreciate it. Things havenβt been going well for me.
@Cazzy8752
I love this post! Thank you.
North Durras must be a wonderful place, I looked at some of the pictures on google
My happy place would be my garden, being amongst the trees and plants which have such a relaxing impact on me.
Hi @ami Awww nice to hear you looked it up and yes it is beautiful. I understand about being in your garden, amongst the trees and plants. I'm not a green thumb but want to learn once I've moved and try to build my own herb garden. It is known that having your hands in the soil does wonders for the soul. Thank you for your post and hugs to you π€
My happy place is a sonic fan game concept/webcomic, I usually go there in my time of distress.
I love sarcasm websites like The onion. They make me feel a lot less burdened and take life less seriously. I hope you enjoy them too.
My happy place is probably on a speedboat in the middle of the water. I love feeling the cool wind contrast the hot day, and smelling warm, salty air. It feels so nice to just sit and relax as you race across the water. Going over the bumps are my favorite part, though. I get uncontrollable laughter and lots of weird stares :) On another note, I love sitting in the den in a circle with my cousins and talking. They have over 30 people in their family and I love how close I am with the teenage girls. Many good times when we get together π
Hi @lovingFlower72 I love this with speed boat. It reminds me when I went on the Huka Falls jet boat in New Zealand. It was going so fast and the guy would raise his hand, turn it as signal hes gonna make the boat spin. Oh my gosh it was such a rush and I was lmao at same time π€£ That sounds nice sitting in the den with your cousins. Glad you have a wonderful close relationship with the other girls, its definately needed when growing up. Thank you for your post and hugs to you π€
That sounds amazing! Iβve always wanted to go to New Zealand. It sounds so great there. Yeah, I see them enough that it would be awkward if we werenβt close π I agree that you need that kind of relationship. And to you βΊοΈ
Physically, my happy place is being around people I enjoy company with. Be it family or friends. If I'm struggling mentally though, escaping to a fictional, nature-like world I made up for me to just calm down and mediate in my head for a bit.
