I have been reading this book: Younger Next Year. It seems a bit out of my reach, but inspiring.

Hi @bellaecco

From the title it sounds interesting indeed ♡

Would you like to share some of the tips you found there?

Thank you.

@ouiCherie

yes, thanks for asking.

one of the main things i got out of it was to do as strenuous exercise as possible for your situation. like, alot of people think that walking is all they can do, when they are fit enough to work out a lot harder, and get even better resutls.

@bellaecco

Everything I've read kind of boils down to "use it or lose it." The good news is anyone can improve themselves at any time and it all helps.

Want to keep your mind sharp? Try puzzles and sudoku and learning new things. I'm leanring German and Portuguese (and Klingon!) on apps.

Want to keep your body healthy? Move every day. Dance, walk, run, bike, skateboard, anything that gets your blood pumping will improve your fitness and probably your mood as well.

Want to keep your spirit/soul happy? Reach out to others. Help when you can. Meditate if that's your thing.

These are just the things I've been doing, My family's health history includes heart disease, strokes, and cancer so I am definitely trying to experience as much as I can while I can still enjoy it.

Good topic!

Nope I wasn't born healthy and I can't become healthy so I can't age healthy.

@bellaecco healthy can be about physical or mental/emotional, and both aspects require constant attention. Things can happen at any point in life that can cause a physical and mental shift as well as the aging process. I do think having a regular exercise routine in the 20s and 30s can set a good foundation because I've seen my parents and grandparents living fairly well into older age, although some things of course we cannot change or control. For the mental health I really believe in therapy to help overcome things and to gain perspective, as well as maintaining friendships, family bonds and hobbies. If we are lucky and we have supportive people around us then it's easier for us to maintain the aspects above.

I just turned 23 and I already feel like there's nothing in this world for me to look up to. My whole life up til now looks like a waste, and it's not just about feeling "behind". I've been trying to catch up and it's been a colossal failure. I've missed all my chances, I'm stuck here. I'm going to d-i-e alone and unloved in the same stupid third world dictatorship I was born in and the world will just go on without me like it always has.

Fuck your book
