Truthfully idk. The people I know, and it’s not many, idk their current age. I never asked bc I never cared. As long as we treat each other right, get along, have things in common, have fun with each other, we can be friends regardless of age.
I think people who put emphasis or too much emphasis on age may limit themselves from certain things.
Does the gap in age make your friendship challenging in any way or are there any benefits you experience?
There’s certainly benefits like being able to see people at certain times or places which makes the experience happier and better for me.
But the challenges isn’t in age. It’s in the fact that after so many rejections, none of which were easy to live with despite the typical response from everyone who tells me “I know. I understand it’s hard but you’re not alone bc everyone has rejections. It’s just a normal part of life.” bc for me that doesn’t make it any less difficult. And the difficulties of living with so many rejections already plus the uncertainty of how they’ll respond makes me uncomfortable to ask anyone if they wanna hang out with me and get to know each other better in addition to the thoughts of people possibly finding me too boring to waste their time with.

It can take time and sometimes it's also difficult to find people who have the same interests and enjoy the same things when you're more like a deep thinker or just more on the introverted side and do not a social butterfly. I am myself not a social butterfly and could imagine that many people who are much more outgoing see me as boring and that's okay. I found the right circle here and hope you have too. There might already be people similar to you looking for a person like you are to become friends with so please do not give up.

@amiablePeace77 I'm 17 but i have a friend who turned 14 this year. It's a rather unusual friendship because we coincidentally met due to him being one of my friends' brothers. Of courses there are ups and downs since he is emotionally much more immature than me, most of the time he comes to me for support, advice and someone to talk to which I truly appreciate. Yet it's a balanced friendship since he allowed me to see the childish fun side of the world that i lost as a 17 year old who's about to turn into an adult.

I have a friend that I've known for many years who is 5 years younger than me, and we get along just fine. Their parents are friends with some of my sisters and that's how we met when they were about 5 or 6. Yes, sometimes the age gap restricts things we might want to do, but nonetheless, we always have a great time together.
@amiablePeace77 i have several frnds w an avg age gap of 6 yrs and its actually pretty fun, they're kind of ur mentor and actually like take care of u and stuff. i really like one of them, not romantically, he's my bestfriend and yea i'm also a very good frnd to him.
