Friendless

Naturepixie81 November 5th

I am 43 and I don’t have any friends. I lost all friends when I left my home town in 2021😢

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. Losing connections, especially close friends, can be incredibly painful, and it sounds like this has been really hard for you. Starting over in a new place can feel isolating, and it’s completely understandable to feel a sense of loss and loneliness.

It’s also okay to feel hurt about not having the friendships you once had, and I can imagine how overwhelming it might feel to be in a place where you don’t have people you can lean on. Sometimes, when we lose friends, it can also bring up a lot of questions about where we belong or how we fit into our new environments.

Please know that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to take time to grieve that loss. It’s also completely normal to feel unsure about how to start making new connections, especially if it feels like an overwhelming task. But the fact that you’re reaching out here shows strength and a desire for connection—and that's something to be proud of. You're not alone in this experience.

If you ever want to talk more, I’m here for you. 💙

@Naturepixie81 hey, sorry you are going through this feeling of lonliness. What are your interests? Maybe, you can find new friends through classes or clubs like a book club, comedy venue, poetry corner, painting event, art show...

Maybe you can also reconnect with old friends through ***. Keep in contact, when in their area or vice versa can organize sonething together.

Feel free to message me also😊

If you have hobbies or interests look at Meetup.com. it's not just for dating. All ages of people looking for friends and people to do fun stuff with. There are so many groups for whatever you're interested in- Dining, Outdoors, book clubs, pickleball, running, hiking...whatever you can think of. Good luck in your search!

I got to scroll through it and they had SO many different kinds of groups it was pretty cool. The only thing is they charge to join. Still a great suggestion and resource.

Not all of them charge to join. I'm in a few in NJ that don't charge anything. One group just made a fee of $5.00 for the year because meetup raised their fees for leaders. Sometimes the group will give you a trial period before they ask for their fee. Keep looking. You might find one that interests you. I hope you had a better day today. I'm here if you want to talk, or vent, or whatever. Take care!

Its sad when we have to leave the place we have known so long behind. I hope where you are now brings you all the comfort you need in life, including many good and dear friends. I believe you have the ability to make new friends Pixie. And you always have a friend in me.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loneliness you’re feeling. Could you tell me why you left your home town?

kindShell9449 November 12th

Naturepixie81, I am here to listen to you and we can certainly be friends!

@Naturepixie81 Hey there. I'm Mattie. I'm 30 years old. Sorry to hear. Relationships can be difficult. Try to think about it less. Relationships are less about control and just naturally allowing things to happen. I'm here if you ever need to talk :)

This is really tough. I'm so sorry. I do think its extra tough at our age especially when people have already settled into friend groups and in their hard-wired routines.

There are still alot of people that feel the same way. What things have you tried to get out there more?

I have went through the same thing when I left my hometown when I was 14. I am 20 now and I can tell you this as your friend, it gets better. It's always normal to think about what your life could've been like if you stayed in your hometown. However, dont forget that you might waste your time worrying about what ifs and realize that you missed on the amazing opportunities that was in front of you! @Naturepixie81
