Hello! I came to 7 Cups to listen to and support people as they transform from struggling from issues into living with issues. I believe no one should feel alone where they're currently at in life. I have quite a bit of life experience with emotional recovery, sexual abuse, and living through traumatic events. I always ask myself: "How can I help the person I'm talking to become the hero in their own story?"




I strongly believe in listener quality and development. In my volunteer capacity on 7 Cups, I also have other roles which include, but are not limited to:

Outside 7 Cups volunteering, I have worked my entire career in inner-city crisis services and trauma. I truly understand and have experienced all aspects of life, regardless of class or caste. I have taught at the university level for seven years as a specialized adjunct. I'm passionate about access to mental health services, especially access to quality alternatives similar to the 7 Cups model. I currently sit on the executive board of directors for an international mental health organization, a national group, and a small local one. While I may have certain degrees, credentials, and experiences, I do not provide advice or counseling as a 7 Cups volunteer. (Flaggers & Googlers: Starets is not my last name. 🤣)




After almost 20 years in the field, and the loss of my partner, I recently made some big decisions in life. I'm slowly exiting out of my contracts and am spending more time on the farm growing produce and plants while raising my chickens and ducks. I grew up and worked in the city all my life and I had no experience in farm life. Life on the farm has been a fun adventure worthy of a drama series...or at least a sitcom!




Like you, I'm also a real person with real feelings and emotions. I have a dry, witty, quirky sense of humor. I once watched a video about the INTP personality type and felt as though the host had been stalking me. 🤣
