Updated Version: Member Compassion Course
by ASilentObserver
Last post
Thursday
...See more Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. This post is about - the 7 Cups Compassion Course [https://www.7cups.com/forum/welcome/Resourcesat7CupstoHelpYou_1275/ReIntroducingMemberCompassionCourse_252883/] which we reintroduced in 2021.  The goal of this course is to understand and know the basics of practicing compassion and help & support our members to have a compassionate experience in the community. This course allows you to foster healthy conversations and connections as well as be a compassionate, loving, supportive, and amazing member of the group support chats [https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php] and the community. Based on the feedback we received, we made some changes and improvements to make the course a bit more comprehensive as well as covering different topics like compassion, self-compassion, universal compassion, benefits, and challenges, etc to foster a better understanding and practice of compassion in our daily lives.  Who can participate? Any member can take this quiz. Even if you are an experienced member, give it an attempt. Because we are all learning and practicing compassion. How can a member participate? * Once you have completed the course, please let us know in the comments of this post. * Also, tag any 3 members you know to invite them to take the quiz as well. If you do not know anyone, that is okay. * Your responses to the course will be auto-graded and if you successfully pass it, you will receive a “Compassion Hero” badge. * If you didn’t pass, that’s okay. Feedback will be shared and then you can retake the course. Why should you give it an attempt? Because it presents an opportunity to take a moment to self-reflect and assess self-awareness. Here is some feedback that we received on why one took this course.  * I appreciate the opportunity to take a moment and reflect on self-awareness. It’s a good exercise to be intentional and concise. Life is a daily practice, and practicing compassion never hurts. * I was nicely surprised to take this course because sadly some people need to be refreshed on how to treat others, and it's a great feeling knowing that 7cups take that extra precaution to protect all of us on our journeys. Thank you! * How engaging and thought-provoking the questions were. * I liked that the course made me stop to think about compassion and how I can be more compassionate. * I learned a few ways that I could be more compassionate. I'm not the best at reaching out.  * The course helped me understand more about compassion and gave me questions that got me to think. >> Take the Compassion Course and share your score in the comments. Let's celebrate our commitment to kindness together. 💖 [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMEXP6lopKu4ZJAtmctmwk0vq9Fp7T892gWJteqmQoIJa_Dg/viewform]<< (Text is hyperlinked, click it to start the quiz)

Calling All Verified Listeners: Help Wanted on the 7 Cups Welcome Committee!
by Heather225
Last post
January 23rd
...See more The hardest part of the journey is sometimes the beginning, and this is especially true of our newbies. We as a community have the power and ability to ensure they get properly oriented and supported so that their journey is smooth. I have been actively contacting newbies over the past couple of months and the results have been inspiring. Roughly 80% of those I sent a personal message responded to me and very appreciatively! That's a really big deal because those people have a much higher chance of being retained (retained = staying on 7 Cups). But I need help! So it's with great excitement, that I announce the revamped relaunch of the Welcome Committee! Through this initiative, we can meet our newcomers at the start with a friendly welcome (think hospitality, a greeter, etc.). We will also provide guidance and resources they need to navigate their first steps. The tasks are simple. PMing brand new members off a list, saying hi, giving resources, answering their questions and sending follow-up PMs to make sure their transition is complete. There's a few requirements to be qualify to be a Welcomer: Requirements: ✅  You must be a Verified Listener (find out how to get verified here) [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/] ✅  No behavior reports (BPS) within 3 months ✅  Comfortable PMing ✅  Google Sheets skills – Basic knowledge of managing data in Google Sheets is necessary. Note: The team uses spreadsheets to copy/paste names and log PMs so you'll need access to a computer/laptop device. This work can't be done via phone. We apologize for the inconvenience! ✅  Maintenance criteria: 2-3 hours a month to dedicate to this project The monthly quota: Adults: Welcome 30 members (60 messages sent including first PM & followup) Teens: Welcome 15 members (30 messages sent including first PM & followup) You can make a huge difference in our community's growth by joining us. I look forward to building this team with you! >>> Apply here! ...See more Hello all newbies 😃💞  We want to learn to know you. Here is a quick icebreaker question!  What is your favourite way to spend a day?  For me it is being outdoors and doing some activity, if the weather is good. In the winter I enjoy ice skating or skiing. Also taking a long walk with good company. During the summer I love to swim.  Love to hear from you all.

...See more Welcome to 7cups! If you are new there is nothing to worry about. I am kind of newer, and all the people on 7cups are super supportive when I have questions or concerns. I wish you the best on your journey, and feel free to pm me, another listener, or mod. I will try to respond as soon as I can, since I am not on all the time, but if it is urgent you can always contact someone in the teen listeners group. I will try to respond to the best of my ability, but may refer you to the teen listener group if I don't know the answer. I look forward to meeting you, and hope you get into the swing of things easily. If you would like to introduce yourself you can do so in the comments to this post or pm me personally, and I will be more than happy to talk. Thank you for joining 7cups!

Member Oath - All Encouraged to Participate

...See more Our member community is thriving! Now that we have our group support chat rooms, our members are able to interact and support each other in new and dynamic ways. You all have done a wonderful job adjusting to these chat rooms and supporting one another. As a member of the 7 Cups community, you are all here for a variety of specific reasons. But one thing we all have in common is our love of the 7 Cups community. Our community is a safe haven, a place to find connection, compassion [https://www.7cups.com/forum/Resources_29/MemberCommunityGrowth_200/MEMBERCOMPASSIONCOURSE_6809/], love, and support. Our community is only as strong as it's members. We ask each member to agree to these community guidelines [http://www.7cups.com/forum/Welcometothe7CupsofTeaForum_27/RulesofEngagement_27/RulesofEngagement_62/1] and interact in ways that reflect these guidelines and the 7 Cups values. [http://www.7cups.com/about/values.php] Today, I would like all members of 7 Cups of Tea to take ownership of their home here. To show your commitment, we ask that you take the 7 Cups member oath. By completing this oath, you are promising to show kindness and support to all those you interact with here. It could be in the forums, with a listener in a 1-1 chat or in the group support chat rooms. Below this post, type out your member oath. You could cut and paste it, but I feel like this takes away from it. Typing it helps you really think through what you are committing to. Next, at the bottom, sign in with your username like this: I, ___________________, pledge a moral oath before my fellow community members, making them my witnesses, that I read and understood the community guidelines and ensure its compliance during my stay at 7Cups. I will treat my fellow members and listeners with compassion, patience, open-mindedness, and being non-judgmental. I will stay respectful of everyone I encounter in the community. I understand as a community we are here to provide and seek support. I will be thoughtful and compassionate in my conversations. I will use the proper channels to escalate any concerns facing during my stay in the community. I will be open to learning from others and sharing my experiences and learning with them to grow as a community together. I will take ownership of my own behavior in the community and understand how I will react to any situation that is my choice. I will follow the community guidelines and support each other in building the community better for everyone. Signed: //LauraS// Date: 11/9/2014 NOTE: Eventually, we will be able to give a badge to all those who take this pledge. The badge will come, as long as you post in this thread, you will earn it!
