...See more Recently I feel like I have just been stuck in a permanent downfall. I have recently started my GCSEs and am doing ten. I sometimes have bursts if motivations do might have a good week but apart from that there’s nothing. Everyone is pressuring me to drop a subject but I’m not going to. I do lots of activity’s and often just don’t get a break. Not really sure what the purpose of this post is to be honest

Struggling with studies
by reliablebunny23

...See more Hey everyone, I'm Bunny. I can't concentrate in class or on video lectures. I zone out, my mind starts thinking about other things, and it just wanders. It's really hard for me to keep my brain focused on the class or the video lecture. I feel like everyone else can concentrate effortlessly, and I’m the only one who struggles with it. Even reading books feels hard. I’ll be reading, but I don’t really understand what I’m reading. My mind is just moving through the words without grasping anything, even when I try to focus. Solving sums is also tough. I can solve them, but I’m not fully mentally present while doing it. My mind is still drifting off, thinking about random things. Does anyone else experience this? Has anything worked for you? Any tips on how to focus better? Because I can't concentrate, I keep falling behind and end up with a lot of backlogs.  I also procrastinate a lot, and I think it's all connected, the main reason for this is my inability to focus. It frustrates me a lot. Sometimes, I find it hard to even start studying because I know I’ll probably fail again. It’s really hard to try over and over when I don’t know how to focus. I sometimes sit down to study, but then I end up procrastinating in the middle of it because I just can’t concentrate. It feels so complicated and overwhelming. Please, if anyone has been through this or has any tips or advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

January Check-In: How Did the First Month of the Year Go for You?
by KindleMissie
Last post

...See more Hello there lovely students' community!😃👋 Hope you all are having a wonderful day!💛 As we wrap up the first month of the year, it's a great time to check in with ourselves. January can be a tough month with all the new goals, schoolwork, and sometimes the cold weather, but it's also a fresh start. Whether things went the way you hoped or you faced some bumps along the way, you’re not alone!✨ Here’s a few things to think about: * What went well for you this month? Any small wins or positive moments you’d like to share? * What challenges did you face, and what approaches helped you handle them? (e.g., breaking tasks into smaller steps, taking regular breaks, reaching out for support) * Have you been able to stick to your goals? Or do you need to try a new approach for February? * Anything you’re looking forward to or planning for in February? Feel free to share your experiences, tips, or strategies that worked for you this month. Everyone’s journey is different, and sometimes hearing about what others are trying can spark new ideas. Let’s keep supporting each other as we move into the next month!💪💖

...See more So I need some help as I just can't decide what is best for myself and my family. Backstory: I am in my final year of child nursing degree. I will qualify in October this year. I went through so so much to even get here and I'm so proud of myself. I do want to be a nurse in some field but I'll likely need more studying for this. My husband then starting his university course in Sep 24. Things were going great but we have now dropped over £1400 per month (I've had full benefits check etc). For what we do have left, it isn't much with a home and 2 children also. MY DILEMMA: We will struggle big time financially from now till October approx. I'm losing all motivation of the whole degree now. I have tried and went through so much to get here and i don't want to fail now. My chronic health leaves me missing classes and placement. Meaning I will owe placement hours and stuff too. It'll benefit my kids if I can achieve this. Will earn more money etc. SO WHAT TO DO?! Give me your thoughts please as I'm struggling to make a decision.

Overcoming Setbacks and Bouncing Back Stronger

...See more Hello there amazing students community!😃 Hope you are doing wonderful!💛 Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we all face challenges in different forms throughout our academic journeys. And, as part of my efforts to create more discussions here in the Student Support Community, I thought this would be a great topic to start with. So, here I am, excited to kick off the first discussion thread!🙌 We all know that setbacks, whether they’re academic failures, personal struggles, or unexpected obstacles, are a part of life. What’s important is how we respond and grow through these moments. Instead of letting setbacks define us, we can use them as opportunities to become stronger and more resilient. What Dwelling on Setbacks Can Do? It’s easy to get stuck in negative thoughts after a setback. But constantly dwelling on it can prevent us from moving forward. It can lead to feelings of self-doubt, frustration, and even anxiety. Instead of letting setbacks consume us, focusing on the lessons learned and taking action helps us move past them and build strength for the future. Tips for Bouncing Back from Setbacks: Here are a few tips to help you move forward after a setback: * Acknowledge Your Feelings: It’s okay to feel frustrated or disappointed. Acknowledge those emotions and give yourself time to process.  * Break It Down: If you feel overwhelmed, break your tasks into smaller steps to regain control. * Reframe Your Mindset: View setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow, not as failures. * Reach Out for Support: Don’t hesitate to talk to a friend or mentor or just a listening ear at 7 Cups. * Celebrate Small Wins: Even small progress is worth celebrating to acknowledge your efforts. * Take Care of Yourself: Make time for self-care, whether that’s taking a break, exercising, or journaling. Now, I’d love to hear from you: How do you bounce back after a setback? Whether it's a tough exam, life challenges, or moments of self-doubt, we all experience setbacks. * What helps you regain motivation? * How do you rebuild confidence when you feel down? * What keeps you focused and positive in tough times? This is a safe space for us to share our experiences and support each other. Let’s lift each other up and grow together!❤️ I’m excited to hear your stories and strategies.😊

...See more Hi! I’m a bit scared since this is my first post. I tried venting on Reddit before but was met with downvotes so I’m just turning here to try a new option. I grew up in England and I had everything. I found the education system really suited towards me and teachers really cared about my mental health. I was always top of my class and barely had to study. I would go out with my friends, binge watch Netflix, basically all the stuff a kid SHOULD be doing In year 7, I moved to India, which was a decision my mom made. I don’t fit in, but that’s not what is truly bothering me; it’s the work. I joined a school with the IB curriculum and I’m currently in year 10. The amount of work and all nighters I am pulling is ridiculous. I get around 2-3 hours of sleep every night and I end up vomiting from time to time. What I’m doing is not healthy, I am awkward, but there’s just so much to do in so little time. I’m so used to always having good grades that I feel I’m good at nothing else but academics. I have these really important exams in a few months and I’m just juggling a million different things. I’m losing myself, my personality and I’m not living or thriving, just trying to survive every day. I’m crying all the time, stressed about a million different things and I don’t do things I love anymore. I also have to have the constant reminder on what I’m missing out on. I’m in touch with a few of my old friends from England on *** and they always go to the park, go sledging, meeting up with friends. I don’t have the interesting personality I once did so I have no friends to meet up with, not that I have the time anyway. I Miss the person I once was and I know I can’t get her back because of my studies. I’m losing myself and I want to be ok again.

...See more People. Friends. Comrades. I can not stress this enough. Eat. Sleep. Take breaks. Please.  You might think thats easy for you to say. Its really, really not. I'm a student of grade 11, and I assure you it's no easy road to graduation. Sometimes I dont eat. Alot of times i dont take breaks. I do sleep, because strict parents, hey, but besides the point. Okay, look. We live in a world of resources. We might as well get something of it, and Im not talking about using AI for homework. Im talking about using AI to create quick, flexible schedules for the day. Time management is everything. Its also extremely hard. Dont study for your parents, this knowledge will go to waste. If you have loads of info to learn, make a table or flowchart . Too few students do this, when it actually speeds up time taken to learn it. It doesnt have to be pretty, fr Try replacing music with nature sounds as music can and does distract. Use mnemonics, they are hidden life savers, and AI can help make some quickly, although making your own can help you remember it. Seriously, you can do pages of work in minutes with mnemonics. Do mcqs if you catch yourself zoning out too much, especially for science subjects. Physics is basically a whole load of mcqs, honestly.   Use text to speech tools when you get too tired to read the work. Its easier to hear each sentence and then repeat it out loud till you learn it If you have 6 hours without breaks to study, you can still get 5.5 hours with 6 5-min breaks or two 15 min breaks . If you dont have time for meals, snack on healthy food (atleast fruits, dates, milk) while studying. Change location. All those "study areas" can get depressing really fast. And itll be difficult to hang out there when not studying- the vibe is officially ruined You know all of this. Majority of what i said is in all articles you find online. Whyd i say it? Because irl i get alot of questions "how do you study?". This is how.  If notes dont cut it, flashcards, mnemonics, tables, flowcharts and AI will.  If this post is useless, have mercy. This is all i got (If youre a Pakistan student and want resources, I know of useful sites and applications. But if you do a quick search im sure youll find some for any country's education) If anyone has app recs or tips, bring em on. Help a fellow out, but not at the expense of your sanity.
