Develop two-phase exit strategy. - Make a safety nest egg (stockpile some money, "start eating those instant noodles" per say.) - Find backup way(s) of income. (My opinion, there's nothing wrong with dumpster diving or scavenging. It can be fun sometimes.)

Take a short break from actively looking for a new position. Step back and honestly challenge yourself to find five reasons to be grateful for your current job. Eliminate any thought that it is not good enough, that you deserve better, that you shouldn't have to work there. Rededicate yourself to be the best employee possible. Take a fresh look at the work and find ways to make everyone's job easier, more efficient and more rewarding. As you become a better employee doing what you are doing RIGHT NOW, doors will open up for new opportunities.

Ist of all congratulate yourself that you are a loyal employee and will have picked up lots of skills in your current company. I work in recruitment and companies love to see loyalty and staying power on a C.V. But if you are looking for a change think of upgrading your skills with any short courses in areas that interest you...try volunteering in an area of interest. Also try following up your applications with a phone call if you feel that is appropriate. Show you are keen! Keep at it and you will succeed.

I think you have to try and stay positive and think that you will not give up and take it as a challenge till you actually get an other job. if you think you are not good at something then you can work on that and try and improve things, plus if you suck at something the company would have kicked you out but guess what they steel needs you and wants you no matter what they might just say :)

You need to always remember that the job isn't forever, there are so many options out there, you just have to apply for other jobs, go out, and just drop your resume off, be persistent, even call the hiring manager if you can to inquire - show the possible employer that you really want the job.
