Speaking up to your manager about scheduled days can benefit both the employer and employee. For the employer it saves on the risk of call offs that can result in short staff or other staff members working longer hours. For the employee it befits as staff appreciation. Prior to speaking with the employer ask other members if switching days permanently is an option. That way when speaking with an employer you are bringing a solution to the table. This can be beneficial for you also. The employer can view this as taking initiative and respect and now only requiring the permission for a schedule adjustment.
