Seek for career service to get personality profiling and resume writing advice, and also seek for workshops or short courses available to boost one's confidence in job search. If this does not help in overcoming depression, it is better to seek for professional counselling service.

What's your motivation behind going on a job search? Figure it out, and have that motivation in mind. You can exercise what to say and write, and you can reward yourself for writing and preparing yourself well. I would say positive vibes and positive things in everyday life can help you feel more motivated and happy in your job search. Good luck!

It's a difficult spiral you have entered. It is tough to break lose of the down going spiral. One negativty leads to more negativity. Depressions is a thing that takes a lot of work and a lot of time to recover from. I would suggest you to talk with someone. Setup small goals in the beginning, to get out of bed, to make a cup of coffe, just really small goals and start working you way up again.

I have been there, you have to move forward and not get caught up in what you don't have and go for what you want. Like me it took 8 years of working lesser jobs until I finally found what I wsnted

Hey there! I can totally empathize your situation. Job search can get very frustrating and stressful. I agree. It is normal to feel depressed and loose hope. But, do remember that if you do not try, you will not achieve what you want to. When you get negative thoughts, use positive affirmations - "I know it is a phase, this will pass." "I am going to get that job." "I am confident about myself." Affirmations will help you to keep a positive frame of mind. Other things that you can do is indulge in hobby activities or anything that make you feel positive about yourself. I wish you luck for your job search and am positive that you will find a suitable job! :D

This is absolutely fine to feel down when you are unemployed and actively searching for work. It could be hard to focus on many things at the same time so if a task seems too difficult, do not despair. Break the task down into even easier steps and start again more slowly.
