Key words here: " I feel". At the end of the day, it's all about how you perceive the situation. Sometimes work can be quite strenuous and we want some acknowledgement, but as the saying goes: “When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.”

Here are five suggestions if you feel you’re not getting the recognition you deserve: 1. Gauge the situation You may not be the only one at your firm who feels undervalued. Ask your colleagues if they feel the same way, but be discreet. Refrain from being negative or casting blame on anyone, especially your boss. News through the grapevine travels fast, and you don’t want to make the situation worse for yourself. However, you can keep your ears open. You may find that your coworkers are in the same boat and that showing appreciation for employees is simply not your employer’s strength. 2. Do a gut check If you do find you’re the only one who’s unhappy, identify what would make you feel more appreciated: Do you want a raise or public recognition? Or just a pat-on-the-back email from the boss? Whatever it is, make sure that it’s realistic to expect, especially from your boss, and that your desire for it is emotionally healthy. You may discover you need to address some personal insecurity. Think about your job and why you’re doing it. It should be for the work itself or for what the work provides for you, not necessarily for praise. 3. Discuss the problem True, talking with your boss about how you feel unappreciated is difficult. Make it easier and more productive by staying composed and not casting blame. Speak for yourself, not your colleagues, and be objective as you tell your boss how you feel. Don’t turn it into a therapy session. Instead, discuss what you have accomplished and what feedback you’ve received. Then, ask how the two of you can solve the problem by coming up with ways to make you feel more engaged at work. 4. Keep your boss up-to-date You may be your own worst enemy. If your boss and colleagues don’t know what you’re doing, how do you expect them to show appreciation for your hard work? Make sure your boss knows what you’re working on and let people know when you complete a big project. But don’t come across as someone who craves attention. If you feel that no one appreciates you, think about when you’ve taken the time to appreciate others. Help create a positive corporate culture. 5. Be patient Not many of us always receive the appreciation we feel we deserve. Be patient. Although you grind away each day at your job, you boss and colleagues are working hard, too. Try not to do anything drastic on a whim when you feel unappreciated. Drastic measures are often seen as acts of desperation and can quickly backfire. Continue to work hard and recognize when others do the same.

Hey... How canyou feel more appreciated at work... So here you have be confident first.. That you have full confidence on the work that you are doing.. Try to do different work, add some creativity n colors to the work. It will impress other.. Always welcome other, share your ideas with your fellows it will good for you as well as for the organizational benefits... Do your work sincerely and in a progressive manner... If a person want to do he will definitely do it... If a person want to achieve then he would definitely achieve it one day...👍👍 But a little effort required... So never be hopeless... Start valuing ur work, learn to appreciate how you do things at work,focus on all your plus points and be proud of the way you do your best every day, you will begin to feel more appreciated when you start focusing on doing your best more and more day by day, at the end of the day it will give you more confidence and more self esteem at work and you will feel happy and complete at your workplace

We all want to feel that what we do at work is important and be validated for the hard work we do. It can be difficult knowing that you may not feel as appreciated as you should at work. But try to keep in mind that you are doing all you can each and every day and that you should be proud of what you accomplish and the foundation that you are building at your workplace. Many of us tend to focus on what went wrong. Even if five of the six reports that were worked on received praise, we will focus on the one that we received critical feedback on. Instead, make an effort to look for what went well at the end of each day, week, and month. Make a list and post it where you can easily see it. Not only will it give you a positive boost, but it will increase your ability to notice the positive, keeping your mind from going to the negative. It will also increase your ability to intrinsically motivate yourself, rather than waiting for outside validation. Look at this as a way of increasing your personal and professional value, which is independent of any job or person. Remember that all highly successful people have developed the ability to motivate themselves. Real fulfillment and satisfaction come from within, not from outside validation.

Break down the bigger goals into smaller ones that are feasible and realistic. When you achieve those mini goals, celebrate your achievement by sharing your success stories during staff meeting or to supervisor. List down what your strengths are, and some areas where you may need to improve on. Speak to supervisor about learning opportunities to strengthen the skills you need to improve on as well as to build on what your current strengths are. Eagerness to learn and grow at a workplace shows you're hard working and professional. Many managers appreciate those employees who continue to learn and improve than employees who do not make any efforts to improve.

One way to feel more appreciated to ask for feedback. You can approach your boss and ask how you are doing at work. People are so busy sometimes that they don't have time to give feedback, but there's nothing wrong with asking for some!
