I think it's mostly because of the beauty standards which tends to glorify skinny body types over curves. That's why no one sees problems with gaining weight as problems, cause they consider it as something positive. It's actually pretty sad, but I hope you'll find a way how to gain weight you want to :)

I think that trying to gain weight is a less common issue and not something society sees as a problem. Most people tend to want to lose weight, so they would are almost jealous of an inability to gain weight. Because it goes against what the majority want, trying to gain weight is not talked about. However, it can be just as difficult as those trying to lose weight. It can be especially difficult because attempting to gain weight is not seen as a valid problem.

I believe that people only talk about struggles losing weight because that is what society has done. Most people only show their progress to lose weight. People who struggle to gain weight may have a fear of being judged because there are so many things out there to lose weight. Gaining weight is very contradictory to the norms. Maybe you can get the conversations going about changing the narrative. Everyone's body is different. So, those who want to gain weight should get the same attention of those that want to lose weight. However, life is unfair. We all know that. But, how will you change the narrative and break those stereotypes to create new and authentic ones?

I think it's because most people value losing weight over gaining weight because of society and norms. And some ppl care more about being a low weight than their own health. But gaining weight is a real issue for people, it just doesn't get recognized as much especially in places like America where so many people are overweight or obese and the media knows that and so they try to encourage losing weight and advertise products. But if they tried to advertise gaining weight in America they would get a lot less customers because a lot of people in first world countries want to be low weight because people in higher countries have plenty of food and so their only struggle is limiting their food. People in countries where everyone is starving, they would not be thinking like this.
