Teachers and other adults at school can be incredibly helpful. They would not tell your parents what was going on unless they thought you were putting yourself or someone else in danger. They also wouldn't tell other teachers details about your situation. They might let them know that you are having or have had a hard time and to take that into consideration if you are struggling with something but even that is unlikely. Schools usually have other adults that you can talk to confidentially. Many schools have some form of counselor or therapist who you could talk to. The school nurse is normally available to talk to as well if you don't feel as comfortable with a teacher.

By law, anything that you tell a teacher or any official at school shall stay between the both of you unless it deals with something as serious as domestic violence or anything else that would put you or anyone else in danger. Coming from personal experience, talking to a school official or a teacher about certain things that may be on your mind and stressing you can ultimately lead your days to be brighter. Many times, they will come up with a solution or solutions to your situation that won’t result in you being in trouble with anyone. I feel like you should go ahead and talk to your teacher. In doing so, mention to them that you’d like the conversation to stay confidential.

It really depends on the content. Schools and teachers are expected to share conversations with parents if they might be a reason for worry, this can include if the child plans to hurt themselves, has been hurt or may hurt others. They are simply looking out for you, but if you want to speak to this teacher let them know that you are sharing this in complete faith. At the same time be aware that if they think your parents or a counselor must know about it they can let them know. As I said they are perhaps telling this to the necessary individuals just to ensure that you are okay and the incident is not and hasn't impacted you.

Sharing helps others and its therapeutic for you.
