You could maybe try finding other people online who are in a similar situation to you. They are more likely to understand what you are going through when they are also going through it. I used to go on the website called penpal world. You can make friends online from all around the world. You can learn bits from different cultures too.

Find friends online. Online friends are sometimes hard to come by, but some people on social media are great to talk to.

Online school is not, at all, conducive to building friendships, so odds are you will have to look elsewhere. I have found that it helps a lot to find a place online where you contribute to some common goal. Places like those tend to have ways to interact with others. It can be possible to find people IRL to meet with and try to become friends with, but this is a lot more difficult and I can not speak to its effectiveness. But if you're looking for people to kill time with and possibly build closer friendships, there are so many places to look, based on what you already like/do and what you want to do.

Online schooling can surely get hard and troublesome, since that feeling of lacking social interaction and fun is terrible and despairing. Considering that getting some friends on campus is not possible, you can always try hanging out with your non-school friends. A casual stroll to the public park or a street might end up in a cool chatter with a stranger and before you know it, you will have a new friends. Other than that, you can always do things that you find fun, engaging in activities that you are passionate about. It could be working out, drawing, hanging out in the lawn etc. I hope you have some fun soon!

I totally get this question cause I too started my university experience online with no friends :( What you can do is try joining different social clubs be more active in class and message some of your classmates. Find out what hobbies and interests you share with your classmates and find a common ground. Joining different social clubs also gave me new friends along with many opportunities to grow. Being more active in class also sets you as a front runner and may be able to help those who are struggling sometimes. Forming study groups can also help to make new bonds and long lasting friendships in online school.

I understand how challenging it can be to make friends in an online school environment. I've faced a similar situation. To overcome this, I started by actively participating in online class discussions, asking questions, and offering help when possible. This helped me engage with my peers and initiate conversations. Additionally, I joined online study groups and extracurricular activities related to my interests. It's essential to put yourself out there, attend virtual events, and make an effort to socialize with your classmates. Don't hesitate to send messages or emails to those you'd like to connect with. Building friendships in an online school takes time, but with consistent effort, you can form meaningful connections with your peers.
