How long should I spend studying each day?

Time spent studying each day is different for everyone. Think about this - How much have you got to study? How long have you got? How much free time do you have? How much do you think you can successfully achieve each day? Set a goal, but start small. On day one, set a goal of 30 - 90 minutes. Every day from now on, add 10-30 minutes until you reach four hours. If you can successfully manage four hours, then carry on doing four hours a day. If you only need to study two hours a day, stop at two, etc. Personally, I study for 45 minutes and take a 10-15 minute break, and repeat four or five times. This takes five hours out of my day, by about 1 hour of that is a break, and the remaining four hours are studying. Goodluck!

I think an half hour to an hour per subject with breaks in between is a reasonable amount of time.

As much time as you feel is necessary to understand the information. I have found that using a studying technique such as the Pomodoro study technique really helps, it makes it so you're never spending too much time without taking a break. You'll find that by doing this, you're taking breaks that take your mind off the subject you are studying, and when you go back to studying after your break is over that you understand things a little more. A suggestion is when you feel like you're not getting a benefit of studying that you stop for a few hours, or for the evening. Always keep your mind fresh.

It's completely up to you! There is no set time in which one should study. Though depending on the subject at hand and how difficult it is for you then you should have a time for it. For example, Math. If you are having trouble with that subject it's best you don't just study 15 minutes. You should put the time in studying for the subjects which are troubling you. Subjects that you have control of will just need reviews. In summary, There is no specific time :). Put your effort in studying your hard subjects and Review for subjects you know.

For me, although I'm not in college yet, I study 1-2 hours a day with 10 minute breaks every 30 minutes. Experiment with study times for a bit until you find one that suits you.

You should spend at least 2 hours studying a day with 10 minutes break each 30 minutes. Don't try to get yourself too worked up when studying.

It depends on your goals and if you are capable of the hard work that you will have to put in. You should sacrifice some time if you want to learn more.

It really depends on the course and how well you understand and retain the material. I have had some courses where I didn't need to study at all. Sometimes courses give a guideline for number of hours outside of the class to put in for each hour in class, but some need more and others less. If understanding the material as it's presented, and in class covers all that is required 5-10 minutes of studying/hour of class time will likely give a reasonable review plus the chance to notice if you feel like some material needs more attention. For a course that requires out of class reading and/or if it's complicated material that is covered quite quickly, it may take 2 or 3 hours of studying for every hour in class.

Personally I would say between 1-2 hours. But that includes regular breaks and don’t forget to hydrate often and have a snack to keep you going. If you study for loud periods without breaks I fondness that the information doesn’t stay in.

Personally, I find that my study time is very dependent on how much material that I need to learn. The time may not be as important as how effective your studying is. Try using flash cards or rewriting some of the things you need to learn. It can help retain information for longer than just reading! Additionally, it is very important that you take much needed breaks. Studying for prolonged periods of time without needed breaks can lead to exhaustion and the feeling of being burned out from studying. Lastly, stay hydrated, people can forget to adequately hydrate themselves while studying.
