I am so glad you reached out! Yes ofcourse, your mental illness doesn't define you and it shouldn't hamper any major decisions in your life, specially when it's something you really like or wish to do. Psychology is a great field, it's the study of the psyche (mind) and is good for people who are interested in studying and knowing about human mind, behavior, actions, emotions, feelings etc. Maybe also, while studying psychology, one could learn more about their own mental health and learn about effective ways to cope and accept their health and also spread awareness and help others dealing with similar situations. Last call is always reserved to the person, if you'd like to study it, go for it, things can be challenging at times, but at the end of the day, you'll be doing something you enjoy and that sure does matter. Much love and strength your way!💛

As a current college student studying psychology I know a lot of people who have gotten their interest in psychology because they have adhd or anxiety or something themselves. Studying psychology can be a great way to learn about yourself and who you are and how you tick, regardless of how your brain works. I have personally learned some new stress coping mechanisms while studying psychology that have helped me. I find it super interesting to learn how the mind works and how people interact; if psychology sounds interesting to you, then it could be a great field of study for you! Having a mental illness doesn't exclude you from studying this cool topic :)
