Look them in the eye unless they say otherwise, and just be yourself. Be kind and respectful. :) They are people too.

Just because someone has authority it doesn't mean they are humans too, and they do worry about their looks, and run to bathroom when they need it, be cool, you're nothing less than them.

When speaking to authority, you should refer to them as Sir/ ma'am . This is a respectful way to talk to authority. Speak confidently and ask as many questions as u would like. They are there to help you, after all. Avoid repeating what you say unless asked to.

Prepare what you want to say in advance. Think about the message you want to send, what you want to say, and how you want to say it. Consider how different interactions may have different outcomes. How well do you know the authority figure you are speaking to? What is their personality like? Speaking up to authority takes practice! Try not to get too down on yourself if it doesn't go well the first time around.

Three words, openness, respect for you and the authority and carefully choose your words. You have to listen, keep your mind open to authority but decide what to do to keep good relationship with authority and still remain true to yourself

Just keep in mind that they are just a person. like you. Even if they might be above you, when it comes to your work/job status or something along those lines they are just a human. You don't have to be scared of them, jut be polite and friendly and it'll be okay :)
