Sleep talking is usually caused by two disorders: REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) and night terrors. People with RBD act out their dreams usually in a violent way. Night terrors involve frightening screams, thrashing, and kicking and people are hard to be awaken.

Talking in your sleep is a normal thing. Everyone has talked in their sleep at least once in their life. Sometimes during sleep your body does things that seem strange, but usually we aren't aware. Sleep talking tends to occur in people who have especially vivid dreams.

I often get very bad nightmares. This causes me to talk/walk in my sleep. Often i do not even remember what has happened in the dream when i wake, but still feel a strong sense of fear, or the main emotion of the dream.
