When we lay down, we are not doing anything to distract our minds. This gives our minds the opportunity to think about things we may have been ignoring throughout the day or to try and fill the void of not doing anything.

Hey :) How about try to breathe in deep breaths and thinking about positive things rather than negative things. For example, you could think about what you like to do such as reading, your favorite book, playing games...etc. I hope I helped!! :)

Sometimes we try to put off ideas and thoughts throughout the day, yet at night we aren't doing anything to distract ourselves. Therefore, we have to confront our thoughts, making it difficult to shut them out!

I struggle with this as well. Though, you may not have the same thoughts, somethings that works for me is just allowing my mind to go blank and breathing steadily. I know it's not easy for your mind to go blank, especially at night when you have all the time in the world to think about anything that comes to mind but once you get the hang of it and find a method that works for you, you'll find some peace and get a good night's sleep :)
