Whenever I can't sleep at night it's normally because I've got something on my mind, I'm thinking too much or I'm worried. What I do to help this is, I get my notebook and I write down all the things I'm thinking about at the time and all the things worrying me. I then write why they are worrying me and then I go on to write why they shouldn't worry me. I like to get a hot drink (normally tea) and listen to the sound of rain from youtube videos. I hope this helps. :)

Ideally, your bedroom shouldn’t have any lights on, especially light emitted from a TV or any electronic device. When your eyes are exposed to light during the night, your brain is tricked into thinking it’s time to wake up and reduces the production of melatonin, a hormone released by your pineal gland that causes sleepiness and lowers body temperature. Light emitted by electronic devices is especially troublesome because it mimics sunlight.
