Sleep is one of those things that we all need and when we can't get up in the morning, it's your body's way of telling you it needs more rest. Things like depression, lack of nutrition, poor health, stress etc can have a factor to it. A sleep routine is a good way to get your sleep in order. I know for myself that I can set many alarms and I still won't get up... If it's too cold or too early and I feel really down then I won't get up... Try to have the same sleep routine every night like going to bed at 10pm and getting up at 7am. At first it will seem like a waste of time but it takes time to adjust to. If psychological stressors have an impact, then maybe linking in with a mental health professional could be helpful.

It could be because you're naturally not a morning person, but it is likely because of your diet or your lifestyle. Drinking, drugs, can cause you to be terrible in the morning. As well as how not enough sleep can be bad for you, too much can also be bad for you. If you sleep for too long, it gives you just as much trouble as it would getting up. Also, try to go to bed at a regular time (not 3 am one night, then 8pm another night)

You may not be reaching a state of deep sleep that makes you feel fully rested. Try to keep your sleeping area as comfortable and have your mind peaceful as possible. Also make sure you have proper nutrition. Low levels of Vitamin D can cause exhaustion, so even with lots of sleep you may be tired.

Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Do you have dark blinds that block out the Sun? Sunlight helps you wake up. Do you set an alarm? If you do put the alarm away from your bed so you have to get up to turn it off. Do you take medicine, that can make you sleepy longer. So you drink coffee? Coffee can cause you to crash, making you need more sleep.

Your body is used to schedule. Your mind and body get attuned to a certain way of doing things. You have to train your body to wake up earlier in order for you to do so. Basically, if you really want to get up early, make it part of your routine. Going to bed early for one day won't help you out.

Having dealt with sleep issues in the past I can give a few examples as to what is happening. A lot of times a person may indeed be a sleep, but to have the most beneficial sleep one must have a deep sleep. This is a deeper sleep than the rapid eye movement of sleep. Too much sleep causes the body to feel lethargic as the body has slowed many of its processes. It often will need a little extra time to wake up. Getting exercise and eating a balanced diet can help increase the benefits of sleep. Try sleeping a little less or a little more to see what is most beneficial. Try things like "white noise" and or make sure the room is completely dark without electronic going.
