Taking sleeping aids are absolutely normal nowadays. Some people sleep better than others and this is your way of getting a good night's rest. There will be a day when you can finally sleep soundly without these sleeping aids. For the meantime, take them and don't feel ashamed or weirded out because everyone is different.

A sign of health is the ability to sleep naturally, sleeping aid is generally required when there are some physical or psychological issues that are preventing the person from sleeping naturally, in this case, taking sleeping aid for a short time is alright, as long as it is prescribed by the doctor. Depending on medication on long term can have adverse side effects and is strongly not recommended.

As long as you are getting the adequate amount of sleep necessary, then it is perfectly fine! If using medications is not comfortable to you, you can always use more natural ways, such as a cup of Chamomile tea before bed or exercising everyday to help fall asleep easier.

You shouldn't have to take a sleeping aid every night to feel fully rested or like you have gotten any sleep. I would talk to your Dr and see if there is something they recommend

It is not normal to have to take a sleeping aid. Your body should naturally put you to sleep with a natural chemical called melatonin which tells your body to sleep when you turn of the lights. Anxiety and other stress or chemical imbalances can keep you awake but you can naturally take the supplement melatonin to help yourself sleep if you need to because stress may inhibit your body from producing melatonin

The short answer is no, it's not normal to have to rely on medication to get a good rest. It's also dangerous because you might become dependent on it. I think it would be good to see a doctor about your sleeping problems, maybe by changing some of your sleeping habits it could improve the quality of your rest naturally
