Learn to budget your time more efficiently. Don't wait until the end of the day to start homework, and try to complete it throughout the day. If you find yourself easily distracted, remove yourself from distracting situations, people, or things-- even if it means leaving your laptop at home while you hit the books at a cafe or library. Find what works best for you, and stick with it. With more time on your hands, you can literally -rest easy- at night.

What really helps is to create an outlined schedule to better balance your time. If you tend to leave all of your homework until late at night/after sports/after relaxing for a while, try to schedule in specific hours before or during all of that--even if just for one assignment at a time--so that you get more done through the day and don't have to stay up all night.

Don't cram all your homework in one night (the night before). Try to do your homework as soon as you get it, and if it becomes overwhelming have a break and return back to it later on/the next day. If you have too much homework, talk to your teacher about and they may be able to help!

There are a lot of studies out there that state that with studying and homework time, you shouldn't be doing too much of it because the brain gets overloaded with it. Take all the free time you can in school / class to work on things. That should really help you get those things done and try working on assignments that are due closer to say tomorrow than ones that can take some time to be done on a later date.

I feel it's important to breakdown the task into smaller tasks. It is important to create a schedule and stick to it. Giving ourselves time to rest is as important as getting work done -- we need to remember that. So, trying to finish the smaller tasks in time with minimum distraction should be the main focus here. If one can do that, one will have enough time to get rest for themselves.
